I think a big part of the reason your A42 sim is being checked back so often is because your bb range has a nut advantage with 53s at 100% weight where IP doesn’t.
Its interesting to see the high connected boards where MPvBB IP has higher EV and EQ advantage than on the same boards BUvBB, but is checking more from MP than BU. Why do you think that is? Just because how ranges are constructed and BB will have more trouble defending wider/weaker range?
Edit:
Oh, we are betting more polar on BU because of that reason. That makes sense.
I would love to see SBvBU 3bp reports as they happen more often than BUvCO
zache86 I understand where you are coming form with your comment but here why it is misguided IMO: I'm a full time grinder, putting 200+ hours a month to make money for a living. Of course I can do all of this work myself in Pio - I have the skill, capacity and hardware to do so. Frankly there is hardly ever anything produced in any training videos that someone like me who has been grinding for 10+ years cannot do.
It is a question of specialization and opportunity cost. I'm not a coach and do not get paid for research that is in turn consumed via training videos on a training site. I get paid to play hands. The value proposition of a subscription membership to me is that someone else does the research and publishes it so that I can save time and consume it.
I already spend 2-4 hours a day doing off table work - w/out spending extensive time running detailed scripted simulations so I assure that this is not about "doing your own work" - this is about efficiency and getting what you pay for. It is getting tiring paying a relatively hefty 100/month subscription and having to deal with borderline childish withholding of information that is obtainable for a few hundred dollars elsewhere (ex.: referencing mysterious preflop solutions when it is a matter of paying 300 dollars for a monker pack at one of a dozen sites selling such solutions).
You have a point there about efficiency and not even counting for those hours you can't grind because of running the script.
Regarding to those preflop solutions for example(monker/snowie or pio) i guess no one wants to give away anything about their ranges and sacrifice ev nowadays that edges are becoming shallower.
I don't know if coaches are withholding information but at least not all of them are giving their best on their vids...i usually find myself watching some "autopilot videos" just as a warm up and not as a learning path, maybe i can find something interesting on their answer to another user's question but i know their vid can be watched on 1.5x speed without missing too much
zache86 Yeah I use the live plays as a warm-up, I typically watch 10-15 minutes before starting a session. Every once in a while there is a spot that sparks an idea / a direction to look into further with Pio etc. but yeah, most of the live vids are not super interesting. Though sauce is a bit of an exception - he always does stuff that nobody else seems to be doing (good or bad who knows lol). I get the not giving away stuff for free too but like if you are going to talk about a specific spot just post a range - its not giving away anything when you show the mixed range you use for a spot IMO. And just please post the spreadsheet - i have my own i just want to compare and use the MP/EP stuff as a starting point for more work later. I sceen shot the entire video anyways to get all the info in the spreadsheet so if I have I will re-create it anyways just going to waste my time for no reason.
Besides Tyler,Sauce and Krab whose live vids are also great imo the most interesting part i get from coaches is their insight answering a particular question...although i appreciate videos were hard work was involved and it's noticeable (like this one).
Lacriola is a bit of fresh air for me on this site...
How do you make these excel spreadsheets? Im familiar with gererating scripts but how do you put the data into excel? Does there exist a video on this?
Love it! One of the best educational videos I've seen in a while. Most videos are good on here, but this one is really great! Keep'em coming EluSiVeMark
I have been doing some research on this idea of investigating which sizings are preferred by solver on which flops and my conclusion is that it does NOT matter which sizing you use as long as you do it with the correct frequency. The EV difference between two sizings is so tiny that it does not make sense to spend time on working out which sizing is better.
So I think an improvement to the analysis in this video would be to remove one sizing and use only one sizing and see how frequently we are betting on each of these boards and you will achieve the same thing(very similar EV) and your strategy will be much more simplified.
Hey at 27:00 you compare but vs bb and ep vs bb on 7,8,9 hi flops. On these flops ep range has higher equity and ev, yet on average bets smaller and puts in less money than the bb range.
For example 732 we almost range bet 2/3 size from the button and then almost range bet small size from ep. Why do you think this is?

Yes, that's a reason and IP has a lot of mid/ high pairs that don't benefit enough from betting.
Could you please post links to this spreadsheet and also the BTN vs BB one. Thanks.
don't mean to be rude but i think it's better to do your own work...your ranges may differ from mark's or the metagame you are playing
One of the best series on RIO, keep em coming!

Hi Mark
Very useful video.
How do you make these excel spreadsheets? Im familiar with gererating scripts but how do you put the data into excel? Does there exist a video on this?
Thanks Jakob,
Have all the sims in the same folder and then in pio go to analysis -> runouts aggregated over multiple files.

Great content, looking forward to more videos like these
At 5 mins you say hes risking 7.5
Isn't BB only risking 5? Needs to win 1bb back on average or folding is better?
We are raising to 12,5. So he needs 7,50 to call.

I thought the same but realized the EV difference is tiny because we're playing vs an equilibrium strategy so the EV difference will always be minor.
Versus real opponents I think the EV difference might translate into much more since our opponents strategys are far from equilibrium
You can only win so much when your opponents strategy is just as good as yours
