One spot caught my eye. At 19:20, playing Ad4d, top left table. Isn't it okay if we haven't got the fold equity against the BB? Isn't it okay to open and call the BB with a hand that does well vs 4BB stack (doesn't it?), at the same time our hand looks stronger opening vs that short so our fold equity vs other players is bigger as well?
Though, then we'd have to call the 7BB-stack on the button too, I think, although our hand looks stong and button's range would be stonger for that matter. But the A4s looks too good.:/
You are definitely on the right track here. It is a great open spot if we think about how strong our hand looks. Once we add the 7bb stack on the button, we do make the CO/SB rejamming ranges tighter. One thing to note is that all players to our left are jamming stacks. Our equity vs the BB is great, but we don't get to realize it whenever CO/SB jams. That included with the fact that we never take the pot down without seeing a flop makes it a marginal open spot in my opinion. I did mention in the video that it is fine to open though.
Great video as always , thank you.
Same question as musaire , isn't it ok if we open A4s on 19:20 against the big blind ?
I think it plays well against 3bb random hand and it looks strong for the rest of the players to jam light.
Yeah, as musaire and Mrav mentioned, I would normally open here because we look strong to the rest opening into a shortie in the bb, and our hand equity vs bb's range with pot odds is just too good a spot to pass on, but I'm intrigued to hear your analysis, and nice video as always!
