1 min in 98dd bb vs sb you said this is a mix strategy preflop. What types of players would you lean towards 3 betting or calling vs?

Outside extreme cases, I mix against everyone. The idea isn't exploitative, it's mixed at equilibrium in a GTO strategy, so I try to mix here too. The idea of 3-betting 98s is too provide protection on certain board textures, but if we always 3-bet 98s (and 87s, 76s etc) we become unbalanced. The extreme cases where I would never 3-bet, would be someone who folds less than 20% of the time to 3-bets and I would always 3-bet against someone who folds more than 70%.

2:40. If you were OOP with the K6s it would play nicely as a c/r with all those BD's and the over. Would you agree? If so, what frequency would you like to check/raise that hand or would it be primarily player pool dependent? In position, as it happened, I assume since that board texture favors the player in the SB you are going to check at a very high frequency as compared to normal.

6:37. What does your 3-bet/flat range normally look like there in the SB against an UTG open?

13:32. If that is a 2-way pot and there is a diamond on the board giving you a back door flush draw/straight draw, are you check/raising that at some frequency, especially since it is a static board and likely favors the OOP player. Also, with over pairs, I assume you are checking a lot to protect your small pocket pair bluff catchers for balance?

31:34. I was thinking over-bet until you said that and it made perfect sense. What board textures are you looking to utilize over bets on?

I saw you fold 22 UTG. PowerSnowie likes folding 22-66 UTG in 6-max, where as most people open up all pocket pairs.

I'm embarrassed at myself for all these questions if that is any reconciliation as you begin to read all of this and contemplate blocking me for perpetuity. Lol.

  1. K6s OOP. Yes, it would make a good candidate as a checkraise or a call. The key on this board is never to fold.

  2. I'm punting on this one. Preflop ranges are some of the easiest ways to max exploit an opponent.

  3. Yes to both questions :)

  4. Overbets are used mainly in cap vs polar situations. It's a technical play that deals with range assymmetry.

  5. Over many hands, 33-66 have been profitable to open UTG. 22 has been a slightly money loser, because of the extra rake on Ignition, I've been folding it.
