Great idea for a new video!

Couple of question

1- @15:49 A7o Marchese open form the CO with Goose on the BTN and Christner on the BB. Certainly he can put some ICM pressure on them with Bryn been so short and Hellmuth 0% to play agroo the SB seems like a ok spot to me but not fantastic. Goose is like call happy imo and Christner is not a easy BB. Do you think this spot is one chiplead always have to take? open crappy hands against thought opposition behind?

2-@37:23 KJo hand how much do you raise been in Fedor position and what your range looks like against the limp? I will tend to complete with 109s but im a nit.

Some suggestions:

Theory videos

1-MTT satellites (with some real examples)
2-Defending less than 10bb on the bb
3-Money bubble and FT bubble (with some real examples)

Gameplay videos

1-Idk if you are interesting in review your 25k win or is too private
2-The last 25k on stars
3-The main event review sounds awesome
4-The 111k one drop is on Youtube if thats help :)

Thanks Chris really enjoy this format

Thanks for the eedback, much appreciated.

15:49- I think this is a really clear open. Think of it this way. Would you open this on the button? (2 people left to act?) The answer is most definitely "yes".

Now, in this spot, PH is playing so tight, he's practically not there. So this spot isn't vastly different than having only 2 people behind. Now, obviously he's going to play >0% of hands, and Goose is on the btn instead of the SB in the mental exercise so it's not quite as good. However, there's some ICM on both of the germans which also helps us a bit which I think very quickly begins to make this look like us playing the btn.

37:23: Honestly I have no idea what Christner is limping here. I think fedor should be somewhat tight from the SB and probably wants to only raise good hands + some suited connector type hands for balance. I'd think we want to do something like 4x it here as fedor but idk.

Great video, Chris. It's quite easy to watch, I didn't even notice how the time flew by. I guess the only downside would be the quite limited amount of hands (-> interesting spots) this format produces. Regardless, I'd like to see more videos of this format in the future - it's a nice change of pace.

Okay great. I certainly won't switch over to only this format but I'll be sure to mix a few in every now and then if they're enjoyed.

Hi, at 20:00 I noticed it seems pretty common to cbet small on a Kxx board. But am always wondering if this is the kind of board where the continuing range for 1/3 pot would be the same as for a bigger bet. I mean I would think with this board the big blind has mostly a K, a flush draw or a fold regardless of the bet size. But maybe you get a chance to get called by a Ahigh with smaller bet but am really not sure.

I think I don't understand why there is a smaller bet on Kxx boards.

Reason 1 is computer poker. That's what tools like piosolver are telling us.

Why that happens is that we're trying to push the equity of our range. This is best achieved by betting very frequently for a small size. If called and we have a bluff, we haven't unnecessarily lost chips. When called and we have value, we can do things later like overbet to compensate for the fact that we didnt get quite as much $ in on the flop as we'd have liked.

In effect, you're trading in your flop range advantage for a piece of the pot for free. Then you both get to the turn with reasonably even ranges.

really like this!
marchese cbet k42cc too large (1/2 pot) when u say 1/3rd better cuz "otherwise airballs lose too much." Can you elaborate? I try to follow logic of these small bets but sometimes struggle. We are sizing our bet based on the airballs in our range?

Hey Chris,
21:00 Tom's 1/2 pot Cbet w Q8hh.. Do you think there is merrit to size up his cbet in this spot from 1/3 pot because of the ICM considerations? By betting 1/2 pot vs 1/3 he can begin to really leverage Fedor's stack on turn / river with Brynn being short? I agree with the 1/3 pot sizing in a normal spot but does ICM allow the chip leader in this spot to size up to increase leverage later in the hand?

Hey Man - Love this format as I don't think there's enough training for Live MTTs online.

Suggestion for future videos - can you select a hero and only go over hands the VPIP while blocking out opponents whole cards?

Apoth 7 years, 1 month ago

This is a really good idea. I will try to do that. (It may be a bit tricky since it's gonna require our editing guys to black out cards and idk what our deal is w/ pokergo or if we're allowed to do that etc). That said, i'll look into it. Thanks for suggestion
