enjoyed it very much, and I would like to see some more videos on other variants of poker. I'd like to know what more experienced players in these games thought about the shove 23m in which you were happy about vs Cole. In my experience when the the players gamble in such spots the nut flush draw is so heavily likely to be out there. If we assumed that you were up against a3hh-x-x-x say 70% of the time what does your equity look like then? Or maybe better question is how low does his frequency of having a3hh-x-x-x or a dominating flush draw + a3 have to be in order to make our shove ok?

It was a very entertaining video, with your thought process being from another perspective than usual; with more doubt in your decisions and how you handled that (ex tightning up)
Also a bit motivating to see you making some errors ;) It's cool that you're humble like that

Glad to see some PLO8. Nice vid.

I Couldn't agree more about the tendency to play too loose in new games. I remember when I was starting out learning mix games, specifically in stud, I would try to play tight but sometimes even when you try to its tough because you dont know the value of hands in certain spots. Or when people would ask me about PLO and show me their hand like AK77 and say this is a good hand, right? I have AK and a Pocket pair.

Going to give my 2c on a few hands as I run through the video.

-4:14 KK993dd

Its a fold, given its behind random and it has very low playability.

-8:29 AKT54ccc; Id call PF. We do well on high boards and well enough to go with it on flops like K52 T53 etc. That said even if he is 3betting reasonably wide he will have A2 so often that we cant peel this flop. Additionaly it makes it a clearer fold given we dont block any spades.
We are about 45% PF vs top 8%
But we are 35% vs that range on flop. And when he has A2 there are no turn cards to slow him down. He can demi bluff every turn including spades.

Board - 6s5s3d Dead - ackctc4d5h
PLAYER_1 8%
600000 trials (randomized)
How often do(es) PLAYER_1 have the nut lo on the flop 71.8062% (430837)
How often do(es) ( PLAYER_1 have the nut lo on the flop
OR PLAYER_1 have a four flush on the flop
OR PLAYER_1 5-card hand type is at least a straight on the flop)
87.0743% (522446)

-10:27 AKT23 I'd play same 3b and Id prob pot flop. With our gutter and our BD NLD we have enough to get SPR3 in. Alternative is to check and fold to a bet and a raise, but c/jam to a single bet. We dont fear free cards on turn much. Yes our 2pr is vulnerable but a J gives us the nuts and a low card gives us NLD to still go with it. My guess is we can squeeze a bit more EV taking that line but potting is going to be +ev.

-25:54 Ac3c4c4J; I think you can peel given you'll be IP and you have some flops you hit nutty and hard. It's close though.

-30:00 A4478 you folded river on J25T6ddd. He bets 450 into 591. If we call we are mostly calling for half but I think we have half enough to call. We are calling to win half of 591 and are risking 450. So pot odds are 295.50/450=.66 to 1. which means we need to have the best low 1/1.66= 60%. If you consider that he limped PF BvB and that he didn't barrel turn we can sufficiently discount A3xxx to make it a call. There is also a small but non zero time we get the high if he has naked A3.

I've never played this game before, and these were the things I was thinking during the video, except that I'd probably limp in with the kk99. Maybe I am ready for 50/100.

Me too! Did you play these tables to prepare for the Scoop 5 card Hi-Lo event? It was great seeing you think your way through some tricky spots.....do you think you have to have more nutted starting hands because of the 5 cards or do you just tolerate more danglers? Hard to find hands where all 5 cards work together. It didn't seem as if the winning hand ranges were that much stronger than usual with the extra card. I'm going to try playing this as my main beef with 08 is not getting enough good starting hands.

Hey Guys! Sorry for being MIA - this has been the busiest two weeks of my life. In addition to getting married, I moved into a new house. I have a lot of work to catch up on so keep the questions coming but please be patient with me!

Leave it to us, man! Although I have played less than 300 hands of big O..

Congratulations on the marriage and moving, hope everything is going well. :)

Hey very nice video. Watched a decent chunk even though this game is not offered in NJ. I definitely think the most $$$ is in the mixed games. Is this game offered only online?

Big O is huge where I live (Portland, Oregon). Second most popular game behind NLHE and in private games it's the most popular. Maybe a west coast thing?

Please more Big O video. It's huge here in Texas as well, as live cash games. Greg Vail claims it's a LESS variant game than even NLHE or PLO. Like to hear other's opinion.
