what are your thoughts about call turn lead safe rivers with k10 at 13:37? my thoughts are when he sizes up he might be more inclined to check back river and is trying to accomplish getting all of his value/bluff on 1 street instead of across 2 streets where he might size down?

I don't really think this makes a ton of sense tbh. Our calling range on turn doesn't really want to start donk betting brick rivers. I don't think we can determine that he's more likely to check river because of turn sizing.

Hey Chris,

i know you have an easy chip +ev float with A9o on J84r BBvSB at 11:30min, but i was wondering how much we could adjust by herofolding here because icm. You did seem to just not consider the folding option on the flop.

Knowing there is icm in play, Id start adjusting by folding the 0ev region of my range, hands like Q5hh K7o A3o. Would you stop there (if agree)? if we go further we would need to start folding the A9o KQo Q9o.. would you say that´s too much?

thank you !

I think your original adjustment is correct. I like folding a little bit too much on every street. If we really overfold flop then villain just puts in one big scary bet on flop (and we massively overfold) and then he has a lot of incentive to shut down at that point because our range is just too strong.

In the KcQc hand, against your 250k bet on the river, mexican folded JJ :)

Hey Chris!

just a doubt on min ~28:30 (set of 77), why overbetting river when his range has almost no Q,has many give ups and occasionally a K to bluffcatch with almost no pocket pairs to stand that bet....wouldn't 30% /70% map better that range? And even if we bet small we open the door for him to bluff if he has some blocker to the Q combos(although not many of them that have the straight missed for hero)?
Of course not in equilibrium but explotatively talking ...

Hope my post was not that confusing
Ty in advance, great vid !

His range being weaker--> me betting smaller for value isn't fundamentally sound poker, nor is it really exploiting. If his range contains no Qx+ then I probably just pure shove KJ+ for value and a ton of air and he's truly screwed.

Last, i promise haha...
would you consider my point if we 'd be blocking a lot of the board or just betting for the big size on this spot?

Apoth 6 years, 11 months ago

well you probably get more than one size in this spot, and if you have really bad blockers then you will probably want to put it in the smaller sizing.

I noticed you were very aggro preflop when you were the clear CL and mexican and T-Macha were in clear 2nd and 3rd in chips. What % of hands should we raise preflop on the btn? Fine to open 100% in that spot?
