26:30 It seems really hard for you to have a bluff on the river with your AA hand, you x/r 4th street with 9s4h showing and unless you are just clicking buttons when he shows two diamonds I think it's pretty apparent you have a hand at this point. The worst hand you would have here is probably something like Ah4h9h9s or a pair bigger than 99 in the hole. I think that makes it easy for Isildur to fold anything worse than two pair? Maybe he pays you off with Tens or better but you would kind of need to be turning a pair of nines into a bluff at that point. It feels like a spot where you only get called by better or raised by a flush so I think checking is the play here and then you have to decide if he just turns flush draws or weak 1 pairs into bluffs enough to call.
Would be interested if some better stud players could comment on raising 4th vs raising 5th
You argue for playing 99 in stud8 based on how it does one average at showdown against (A2)7. That is not the point. You aren't allin on 3rd street. It is a one-way hand, and opponents can read your hand on later streets better than you can read theirs. It may be OK to play 99 in this situation, but I don't agree with the justification based on equity against his range at show down.
It goes to showdown way more often in Stud8 than in any other game. The reason not to play hands like that would be if we cannot realize our equity by having to fold a lot. That is rarely the case in Stud8.
Hi, George
Stud hi, 26:30
I choose bet for the reason that with a stronger than AA hands we're going to bet always, check we are showing the hand of AA-99. Bet with the hand KK-TT opponent in this situation is unlikely, but with this hand call often. Will the opponent be bluffing with missed draw? I think it will be the 50 percent+ from Isildur , although in a situation where he had some small pair to, for example, a flush draw, more often I think he check behind.
But high command have one more question - what are we doing with raise from opponent that given the pot odds?
Absolutely fantastic that RIO has this type of content vaulted. About to play in my first ever 8 game mix tomorrow....and it will be on the new runitup.tv stream so trying to learn some basic strategy and not completely embarrass myself

Another stylish video from George <3
It the last stud hand (4(4)5 vs (A)4) opponent is acting first w A4 on 4th, he can`t check behind George (if I understand your point right).
You are right. He should have c/c instead of betting 4rd into me.
