Hey Raphael could you tell me what your winrate is for January or if you don't want to tell at least bb/100? and how many hands do you play per month approximately?

Raphael Cerpedes 11 years ago

Ill post some kind of quarterly report with graphs at the end of march. My winrates so far this year arent too relevant since they are definitely not sustainable. I used to play like 100k hands a month or more but this year i changed my approach a lot and reduce my volume, playing shorter sessions, less tables and taking more opportunities to play higher stakes. Im trying to get in more "quality time" instead of focusing on big volume as I did for years.

The K8hh hand, what hands would you bluff turns with once the Q pairs? And after checking back the turn, bluff the river with?

BritneySpears 11 years ago
i think bluffing turn with FD thats it , and never bluff the river when turn went ch/ch since we dont expect villain to ever fold.

Raphael Cerpedes 11 years ago

I wouldnt bluff much on that card since I expect to get very very few folds given how the field is playing, I would still bet any low gutshot that I get there with, intending to shove any flush river card and also some FD but def not all of them. I quite like taking a free card with a FD on the turn there. After checking back the turn my range is very weak and there are many cards on which I would basically bet 0%, since I never have any value combos I will never bluff them. Ill have some bluffrange on cards that could potentially improve me, mainly flush completing cards and A or K rivers.

First hand AJs. Don't you consider folding the turn? His only bluffs are offsuit hands with a high diamond, and he should not have those very often in a BB vs HJ 3-bet. Unlikely he 3-bets KJo/KQo etc.

Raphael Cerpedes 11 years ago

Maybe I am too much of a calling station and folding turn is an option but I always call there. I have a very hard time folding top pair in 3-bet pots, especially before the river rolls off.

Daniel Dvoress 11 years ago

I think it's possible he villain is sometimes bluffing complete air - villains value bets are so nutted that he can throw in some close to 0 equity bluffs in there, but generally agree with Chael that it's hard to come up with hands villain would want to bluff here.

Raphael, would you rather peel TdTx on the turn there, or your hand? I feel like on the turn we are pretty close to the bottom of our range and that our hand is closer to the bottom of our range on the turn than it is on the river (if that makes sense?)

Raphael Cerpedes 11 years ago

Am definitely calling again with 99-QQ with a diamond and am not sure which of TTd or AJ has better equity against his overall range. AJ is near the bottom of my range once I do call the turn bet but not before I dont think, there are still lots of hands that am folding to this turn bet.

29min KQo, vs the 32/9 guy, just wondering do you 3b AQ for value there ? Im not sure but i see allot of these players still showup w garbage allot eventhough they dont raise that ofthen. Maybe its cause they limp AA,KK etc and randomly open Q9s,Q7s whatever. This is why i usually iso them w hands like AQ,KQ etc also i gain initiative and they tend to play fit or fold too so thats good for me. But maybe its better when we have the BTN so we got better position. Just wondering what you think, i dont play these limits so it can easyly be that the 32/9 like players on 500zoom play a bit different.

Raphael Cerpedes 11 years ago

With AQo vs this type of player I think I would still 3-bet for value/isolation, with the plan of folding to most 4-bet sizings. KQo is a considerably worse hand though so I prefer to just call with it and see what happens postflop.

Nice video!

7:40 A2s, Do you have a 3b range in those positions? I mean if you 3b

your strong hands and A2s is in your call range. Then your call range

is weak and verry hard to play OOP vs a strong range of utg

Raphael Cerpedes 11 years ago

I have a 3-betting range from any position against any position open. I dont think the fact that when I cold call there I wont have the very best hands often at all will hurt me much. I will flop nutted hands on almost any board texture anyways.

The 96o around 37min

Wouldnt this be one of the best check raise bluff hands on the river? Assuming this is a board where you slowplay all your nuthands to the end.

Raphael Cerpedes 11 years ago

I guess its a decent candidate to sometimes x/r bluff the river with, but am not slowplaying all my nuthands to the end.

28:16 4th table. What hands would you squeeze here and what hands would you call? Why do you prefer to call ATo and not to squeeze when reg opens and fish calls?

Raphael Cerpedes 10 years, 11 months ago

I would squeeze stronger hands for value and different type of hands as a bluff but this is not a spot where I want to be overly aggressive, being oop facing a minopen and an half stacked weak player call my gameplan is to call tons of hands. I think overcalling ATo is best here and I dont see much merits to squeezing that hand in that particular situation.
