3-Bet Pots (Part 2): Four Counter-Intuitive Flop Strategies

POSTED Feb 01, 2019

Daniel Dvoress aka Oxata dives into the second installment of his 3betting series. After a short recap of the preflop takeaways of part one, this video focuses on postflop play with a focus on possible exploits. For each of the presented flops, we find that PIO suggests rather counter-intuitive strategies.

Nice Video, thank you.
Suggestion for future video: What 3 bet ranges/sizes does PIO Preflop prefer at different stages of a MTT

This is something I will definitely consider, but the problem with doing a theory video on a topic like this is that it's very broad and there are just so many variables that come into play. Not to say that it's not doable, just that it would have to be more in the format of me selecting a bunch of hands relating to the topic and then reviewing them.

Thanks for another brilliant video and for the work you put into them. As for the comment at the end of the video I would love to see these spots for 100bb deep, not only useful for cash game players but would be interesting to see how the dynamics change when comparing deeper stack situations to shorter stacked ones.

I've been getting a lot of people asking for 100bb stuff, so that is what I'm currently working on. I'm not 100% sure that it will be the next video to be released as it takes a long time to run stuff that's this deep, but it is in progress.

Not to say that a 100bb spot would be great, but I think the 100bb spot (like Krzyszstof Slaski's (sic) recent 3bet series), is covered way more often on RIO than an even shallower SPR

I think a 30bb spot, SB 3bet vs CO at 2.5 SPR, or BTN 3bet vs CO at 2.5 SPR would be more valuable spots to cover before a 100bb spot.

I agree with you that 100bb is done a lot, but at the same time it's also the spot that likely comes up the most for the RIO population as a whole, which is likely why it gets asked for with such popularity. So, I'm working on a 100bb video, but like I said above it might be a while since it takes so long to run everything as you get deeper.

I'll also see what I can do with regards to a 30bb spot. I know from the video before this one (and also in the past) I've had a lot of requests for BU vs CO 3bet pot, so I'm heavily considering doing that spot as well.

Yes! Very good video and thanks for the work you put in to them. You can see they are prepared very well and that’s really helpfull!

Is there some common understanding of what the pio colors represent? I don't use it but a lot of the videos here do. Without knowing which color is raise, fold, etc, I'm kinda at a loss.

Great video @Oxota. Did you ever go on to continue this 3b pot series? Would love to see more in-depth videos from you on these spots
