Hi, this video looks good, nice to see some HU sng ...
the problem is we don't get to see a bio from you, we don't know if what you do is proven to be good strategy etc ... we don't know your results or anything what did you accomplish in poker.
For example, ben sulski has some great results still nowadays so when we listen to him during a video we know what he is saying has some great value. I m sorry if it sounds a bit harsh but this is a great way to value the contents of the videos.

Thanks,

Hey desperhate thanks for the comment.

I don't really know how to answer to you. I think most coaches on this site, especially the Essential ones are not really well known in the poker scene but IMO that shouldn't be a problem as long as you feel like you improve your game and learn new concepts by watching them playing and explaining their thoughts. For me that's the best way to value the content of the videos rather than just knowing that a particular video maker has won a lot of money during his carreer.

I think most coaches here are sought out by the site and not the other way around, which already says something, but I actually agree with you and think someone with as much content posted as Señor Alvarez should basically be obliged to show SOME proof of being a long term winner: contrary to his reply below, Essential membership is still a paid membership. I just trust the site and its reputation.

That said, there was a handful of what ended up being breakeven/losing players putting out a ton of content on HUSNG.com 6 years ago, and that was a site I trusted too.

I didn t mean you have to be famous, but a prouf that your concepts or thoughts are working on the long run, otherwise it s like watching a video of my neighbour I can see new concepts, a new type of play, but when I see his results I better not do what he does

I'm little bit skeptical about size you use with 92o against against hes limp.
he needs 30% equity to call. and even against top heavy range with some bluffs evolved he would have around 30%. Ofc its not that easy to realize that equity. but is he ever folding to that size of raise or almost never. What the bet obtains? If you check you still can see the flop ofc you are some what capped but do you think you can with raising to get higer ev for that hand?. Can you open it up a little bit? Also what type of range you would raise against player who limps a lot at shallow stacks?

I really appreciate and enjoy this husng series! Keep it going! :)

Hey Whiteli glad you enjoyed it!

I think you are right, my sizing should be a little bit bigger at around 20bb eff. 2.7/3x should be way better in order to deny him an easy peel with most of his limping range, although at 15 - 10bb eff 2.5x size should be better because that allows you to raise some bluffs without putting a lot of money in the pot nad that has some merit when playing shorter stacks.

The range that I'd raise over a limp is quite polarized since I don't really want to ISO + fold a hand like 67s so I rather pick raise/calling and raise/folding hands.

Thanks for the Husng content! 6:20 Dont you think this is better played as a bet? This hand seems like one of the worst we can get to the river with and if we check it we may be over check folding and not having enough bluffs in our range.

Glad you liked it Minephuct

I think that A high after checked preflop is way too strong to bluff OTR, I'd have plenty of worse hands to bluff (67,67,8T,49,39,37...) that would belong to the bottom of my range and would be better bluffs since they never win at showdown.

Hi Nuno,

At 13 min, with the 56 on the 6Q9108 board.

Why not check raise vs an obviously capped range after his turn check?

Nuno Alvarez 7 years, 4 months ago

Hi rizzer.

I agree that I could have checkraised this combo here (it's likely a mix between raise and fold) but I think you are overestimating how capped opp is. He can still have plenty of Jx such as JT,QJ,J9,JJ.
