Teunuss is running hot in the previous parts and looks to continue this run against a weaker than usual player pool.

Another great video- I particularly liked seeing the exploits you made especially against some of the weaker players. Great work as always!

Very nice video ! At 3min40 you overbet 79cc.
Isn't the Ac turn a very good turn for our opponent with him having a lot of AK/AQ type of hand after checking back the flop ? Don't you prefer overbetting Q9cc with the blocker ?

Solver agrees with me :)
Pio wants to overbet turn, mostly with sets/straights and draws.
79cc would be a combo we typically give up on a blank river.

Hi teunus,
2:14 A4o A57 two tone do you need to have a bigger sizing as well on this kind of flop?
7:14 22 A73 two tone, what other hands would you use this sizing with here?
34:22 64s 952 rainbow why do you use small sizing here with the nuts, wouldn't a bigger bet net more money here?

teunuss 7 years, 7 months ago

-No we don't, betting (close to) range for a small sizing makes most sense.
-I like just using the small sizing in this spot as well, so we will be betting a lot of hands for this sizing obviously (pretty much most pairs/draws/backdoor draws)
-That argument can be made in every single spot when you have the nuts, because a larger bet can make more money ;)
I like valuebetting and protecting with a lot of hands in this spot, so we can bet range for a small sizing.

I don't mind videos when running good, I actually think they are equally as important as they show the proper fundamentals. For example, in other vdeos when attempting a bluff that fails we often say "Its ok,we are going to have it X % of the time", well, these are those times.

Great Series - It's helping me with Mid stakes NL live play since there are limpers in pots pretty often and usually some weaker regulars.

Time stamp 20:18

Hand; You open pocket 4d 4c UTG, C.O. 3 bets and you call pre flop

Board (4h Jd 6c) As 2c. You check call the flop. Turn goes check, check. River goes check, check.

A. Do you think checking the river could be a fairly large mistake in this hand?

B. Can I also ask what your river bluff check raising range would be in this hand? I guess he can be checking the turn for pot control with hands like small suited aces if he 3 bets those preflop. What do you think? And do you think that check raising the river as a bluff pretty frequently (overbluffing) would work well against
some of the weaker regulars?

C. Do you ever donk the turn in this situation. Maybe bet half pot on the turn and then bet the river or go for check raise on river?

Thanks!

Thanks!

having relatively many pocket pairs in my range, I wanted to slowplay flop mostly against this somewhat larger sizing.
Giving our pocket pair heavy range, we are checking at a high frequency on the river, therefore we should be slowplaying 44 a lot. (overbetting 1/4 of the time, checking 3/4)
Giving my points, donking turn doesn't make much sense for me as a strategy.

River check/raising range;
Mostly sets and aces up as value obviously.
Bluffs are going to be some 33/55/KJ/JT.
I don't have a strong opinion on if we should be overblyffing or not against weak regulars.

For a future video, it might be cool to see you look over some of the hands from a video in PIO. You seem to be pretty proficient at it, based on the amount of hands you check to help with the commentary analysis.

How long does it normally take you to check a hand in the solver?

At 1:09, i don't understand your checkcall after picking up the 10, it's not like we beat anything. We might as well double barrel, on such a good card for our range? And it seems like a fine tripple barrel as well, blocking Q10, K10, and unblocking a J ( featuring in call call folds), although blocking spades might not be the best.
