KK hand around 16:30 - isnt checking better on the river when jj,qq bet anyway? and this way we can still get value from QJ/random floats w no showdown value

innerpsy 9 years, 2 months ago

i wouldnt be so sure that QQ/JJ bet anyway, and i expect him to bet his bluffs mostly on the turn. so when it goes check check on the turn, his range is more medium showdown value and not too many bluffs. I want to give him chance to herocall 99,77 and Tx, and dont want to give him chance to nit-check QQ-JJ, so i figured betting is better.

10:20 why cbet F 8$ into 25$ KQo on 549r? why its good to cbet small and frequently there?

innerpsy 9 years, 2 months ago

Basically its for simplifying your strategy mostly. Your range is relatively strong here and you can basically bet all of it on the flop with a 1/3 pot sizing, while for a regular sizing you would be have to split your range in betting and checking parts, which wont make much difference ev -wise (if split correctly), but will leave you with two ranges needed to be balanced

innerpsy 9 years, 2 months ago

Best way to learn splitting your ranges is using gto software (SP , Pio, etc). For that exact hand i assume that you would bet all your top value range (and reasonable bluffs obv) and in check back leave mediocre value range to play the rest of the hand passsively with ability to bluffcatch opponents bets with the right frequency.

Gay Theory 9 years, 2 months ago

ok but inside the hand u cannot use pio, so how do u fastly approach this and where u make BE point? bet all TPs , check rest?

innerpsy 9 years, 2 months ago

that's main reason to use smaller sizing - you don't need to think about your bet/check ranges, you just need to be able to figure out spots where you have strong enough range to bet it all with 1/3 pot.
For regular sizing I think betting all top pairs for value range would be a good move

nice vid,

any opinion/ideas on gto solver vs pio solver?

innerpsy 9 years, 2 months ago

Personally I use simple postflop and it fulfills all the needs for me in terms of reviewing my hands. I didn't go into much detail about other solvers but I assume they basically do the same thing and you should choose based on interface/pricing.
In case you decide to buy simple postflop - you can dm me for 10% discount link.

really liked this video. i like having the post session analysis rather than the live vid. more time to think about the hand and then put it into the gto solver. would like to see more vids from you in this format and maybe some piosolver in the future. thanks.

innerpsy 9 years, 2 months ago

Yeah I like that format too, even though live session has it merits - you get to hear real time decision making process, while after the session I won't be able to reproduce it exactly and instead do more in depth analysis which would help in the future

Koos 9 years, 2 months ago

Excellent first video! I enjoyed the format/pace and the occasional analysis of a particular spot. Hoping to see some more videos like this one in the future.

innerpsy 9 years, 2 months ago

Thanks for the input, this would definetly be my main video format as I feel it has the best efficiency in terms of providing useful info. So more videos like that to come for sure :)

FIVEbetbLUFF 9 years, 2 months ago

great video. Really like the analysis.
about the j9s hand, i understand we have a lot of bluffs but i dont think overbetting is the most effective strategy with 6x. He has a similar amount of them to us, as he has all 96 65 64 63 66 in addition to some 62/76. We have a variety of k6 q6 86 type 6x (as well as we have 76) but when we bet huge, he is forced to call much fewer hands and a lot of them will be chops, so our 6x doesnt get adequate value if most calling hands are just chops.

about GTO solver at 32min, u say he say he supposed to bluff shove qj cuz block ur qq/jj but u have zero qq/jj in this sim. So maybe its just used as shove (along with KT) bc it has to least sd value of anything in his range (his ak-aj beat a5/a3 of urs) and it doesnt block folding range so its used as bluff shove.

innerpsy 9 years, 2 months ago

Can you time stamp j9 hand you are talking about ?
I'll try to answer in more detail when I'm back to my pc after weekend

FIVEbetbLUFF 9 years, 2 months ago

its at 12:30 on river on 54932, with KQo. lol no idea why i said J9s. my bad lol. This part is correct part of my question "i understand we have a lot of bluffs but i dont think overbetting is the most effective strategy with 6x. He has a similar amount of them to us, as he has all 96 65 64 63 66 in addition to some 62/76. Also "about GTO solver at 32min, u say he say he supposed to bluff shove qj cuz block ur qq/jj but u have zero qq/jj in this sim. So maybe its just used as shove (along with KT) bc it has to least sd value of anything in his range (his ak-aj beat a5/a3 of urs) and it doesnt block folding range so its used as bluff shove."

innerpsy 9 years, 2 months ago

i agree that overbetting 6x might not be optimal play here, i think betting smaller with all of our straights would indeed be a better option. overbet bluffing as an exploit might be ok though, as i would be happy to fold out some of the Ax of his.
about the gto part you are correct, i used calling range with zero QQ-JJ here, so reasoning for bluffshoving would be different, but as always in spots with rather narrowed ranges its all about blockers.

zilbeee 9 years, 2 months ago

I don't think he would fold an ace with a busted fdraw OTT, and you seemingly overcbetting the flop, in the situation, for that 177% pot bet. Dont think it's bad to cbet if hes overfolding aces on the flop, but that also means, when he calls, the turn hits his range pretty hard, so I don't think KQo is a good candidate foi a second barrell. Anyway, amazingly played overall, great video! Hope to see more.

Hi Innerpsy, is nice to see you here doing videos.

Why in the 27:27 you did not bet the T7s on the turn?

innerpsy 9 years, 2 months ago

I'd prefer to have at least some of the top pairs in my double checking range here, otherwise i wont have almost any hands to valuebet most of the rivers

innerpsy 9 years, 2 months ago

Almost any river would be a bet, except maybe ace and most kings. When he checks twice our criteria for hand strength needed to bet for value goes down significantly.

Welcome Mikhail, it's great to have you here. AJFenix often said on his livestream you were one of the best (if not the best) in the zoom 200 pool playing many spots differently from most regs and it's cool to see how you approach the game.
I enjoyed this video a lot and especially the way you explained your thought process. You are good at this format and I am happy to know you will be doing more live play videos in the future.

Also props for your great english, I have many russian friends who speak it well but you are the best I've seen so far!
