Love the potential 4th table being replaced by what amounts to the wall of shame.

Can't wait for my opportunity to be featured on it.

Good video though. Gl with SNE

JohnCarter100 11 years, 1 month ago

hey mark

you mentioned SNE. I'm considering going for it sometime soon. i was wondering if you could break down how many hours/hands per month you plan on playing to reach it. are you 3 tabling $2/5 zoom to reach it or is it only for the video?

i know these are obvious questions but i've only just thought about going for it again.

do you have any other obvious tips on the goal for sne (not specifically strategy wise)?

EluSiVeMark 11 years, 1 month ago

Hey John,

I usually play 4 zoom 500 tables and 6 regular tables at the same time.
Or i play 3 1000 and 3 500 zoom tables.

I guess thats around 1,3-1,4 k hands per hour which is around 800-900 vpps per hour. And i play almost every day. And i average around 4 hours a day.
I play around 120k hands or more per month.

Any other tips depend a lot on which stakes u play and which game. Always try to be ahead of schedule. Keep enjoying the grind else u will just burn money. And for general happiness, dont become only a rakeback grinder, i mean make sure you make some money without the rakeback.

If you have any other questions about SNE, lmk, i will be more than happy to answer them.

Ac9c @18:55. Given that villain is likely to have Ax in that hand when he bets 50 into 80 on turn (you even talk about a sizing-tell), is it worth considering leading small on that river?

I assume he's still likely going to raise his flushes. He probably just calls his straights against which you probably would've gotten only one bet anyway when villain b/f versus your checkraise.

You're not getting any value out of his possible bluffs anymore, but you're getting 2 bets (bet/call) out of his flushes, which you otherwise might not.

And occasionally he'll look you up with Ax, which gives you an extra bet as opposed to when the river goes check check.

As far as balancing goes, instead of having to c/r your bluffs on this river you only risk 1 bet (the initial lead), and you get most of his missed draws to fold.

EluSiVeMark 11 years, 1 month ago

I dont think i have a donking range in general on the river unless i have some sort of read about the player or about his handstrength.

In this case i did have a read about his handstrength because of his turnsizing, so leading the river does make some sense. When i expect he checks back the majority of rivers i probably should add a leading range.

That said, if i implement a leading range think i prefer leading with flushes rather than my nutted hands. I dont block his flushes which could bet/call and c/ring flushes for value is probably too thin.

As far as being balanced i dont see myself having hands weaker than Ax very often. So maybe leading the weakest Axs as a bluff.

Good video. You have the most detailed HUD I have ever seen. It does however block some of the information on the tables (bet amounts, etc), it doesn't bother you much?

EluSiVeMark 11 years, 1 month ago

Thank you Vladimir,

No it doesnt bother me too much but sometimes when i play without a HUD and change back to play with a HUD it can look pretty hectic.

JohnCarter100 11 years, 1 month ago

Thank you for the advice on SNE Mark.

I haven't planned it out very well, and it is still early in the year but if you were to make a video/series on SNE, I think people would want to see it.

If that's not even a consideration, I'd love to find out more about your set up. Chair, mouse/controller, ninja etc. Any thing else that's important?

EluSiVeMark 11 years, 1 month ago

As far as my setup, just got 2 screens, a desktop and a logitech mouse. Ive got the mechanical keyboard from the vpp store. A home made desk and a herman miller chair.

I dont use tableninja, just the hotkeys from stars itself.

A SNE video? what do u have in mind? Its nothing special really, just 3-4 hours a day every day.

PositivePoker72 11 years, 1 month ago

Very good video! Live play zoom is the best format imo! Could even go with 4 tables for my taste.

Very well explained and pls go even further with explaining exact percentages of the stats you use and

how they influence your plays.

I think thats a very valuable and uncommon teaching style. Thumbs up! :)

iamapokerbeast 11 years, 1 month ago

nice video, thanks. cool new coach. seems everyone who plays 2/5 zoom makes videos now lol. would you be willing to share your HUD for download anywhere for those of us who are HUD noobs? p.s. I am also a fan of more tables over less tables in videos so there is always something interesting going on. GL.

EluSiVeMark 11 years, 1 month ago
Hey pokerbeast,

I've shared the stats i use for my HUD, and you can use the stats u like.
I am not sure how to add a file here.
If you are a HUD noob i advice you to get better in that sort of stuff ;)

Dauntless 11 years ago

^  it would be nice if u upload that HUD. I think some one from RIO know how to upload it here :)

Very nice video and welcome to RIO!

Denis Gnidash 11 years, 1 month ago

Nice video. You seem very adapt at making exploitative plays using a massive hud. Making a series about how you exploit specific hud stats with hand examples would be a cool future series idea.

piterlanguila 11 years, 1 month ago

Great video, The KQ hand in 9 minute video, I also do like checking behind turn, but  I think that river hits a lot with  his x/c range (T8, KT, QJ, J9). I do not see too many value bets from his Qx or randoms to justify calling there and most of the range we have beaten will play x/c (maybe some KJ or A9s) or x/F, just imo. And very nice video! :D

EluSiVeMark 11 years ago

You might be right. It is one of the worst rivers and i dont expect that he valuebets worse hands than mine.

redvulture61 11 years, 1 month ago

Dont post your HUD that is silly you worked hard to make it obviously and you should not be just giving it away i certainly wouldn't. If people want a HUD as good as yours, they should make the effort to build it themselves. Yes it is time consuming, but it is not difficult and any serious player will be happy to do this. It amazes me how people are still looking for shortcuts to win at poker.

Jvank 11 years ago

Nice video, good explanations.

AQo around 26 min on Table 1. You folded it from D vs a CO open. What are the reasons for it?

Thx

EluSiVeMark 11 years ago

Thank you,

The AQ was a mistake, not sure why i folded but should have played it. I guess that another hand was going on.

Wichi 11 years ago

Thanks for the video!
I couldn t see the Button many times...

Could you pls change that next time?

Alex V 11 years ago

Cool video, Mark... And i think this format is the best (live 3 tabling zoom).

Who are the toughest 500zoom players right now in your opinion?

You sound veeeery calm...do you consider mental side of the game as your strengh? Do you ever tilt?

EluSiVeMark 11 years ago
Thanks Alex,

Just look at the 1000NL zoom players, usually they are the toughest 500nl players.

I do think the mental game is a stength of me if you compare it to others.
That said, it's not even close to being good or optimal.

And yes I do tilt, but usually quit pretty fast when i do.

thegrinder12 11 years ago

Nice first video!

1:30 ATo table 3

Why are you checking flop, I always cb 1/2 on those flops just bc

ppl fold their non diamondshands.

6;55 you said he will xc flop with a lot of Ax. Do you like xc

Ax in his spot? I don't since I think utg(you) will barrel a lot on turns

and rivers.

9:00 You give him AQo, don't you think most regs will squueze

AQo IP vs the fish pre.

20:03 QTo Why xc flop? We don't have much implied odds, and we must fold

to a lot of barrels?

Groeten;)

EluSiVeMark 11 years ago
ATo: I prefer betting AdTo because when i hit i can barrel for value. With AxTd i cannot really barrel when i hit the turn/ river for value because more often i get called by better.

Another, maybe even more important reason is that when i check i play vs a much weaker range than when i bet. When i bet i dont give him the opportunity to stab with air.

I like to checkcall my stronger Ax here, so AQ,AK and A6, and some Ax with backdoor flushdraws. Definately not all Ax because like you said, we will gget barreled too often.

AQ: Very player dependant i think. I do open utg which is a strong range. Not sure how i explained it but on this runout i dont think we beat his valuehands and i dont see a lot of bluffs.

QTo: I think its fine to x/r, but if i x/r this hand i x/r very frequently on this board (which might be not a bad thing) I prefer hands that dont have overcards to the board or overcards to second pair.

Groetjes!

Hi Mark u forgot to answare my question... can i know what stats are on the 6th line? if u don't want to there's no problem just say it...ty

EluSiVeMark 11 years ago
Hey Max,

You are right i forgot to answer your question.

x/f as the initial raiser/ Fold turn ip after missed cbet/ bet ip vs missed cbet/ bet turn oop vs missed cbet/ Delayed cbet ip/ delayed cbet oop

udsifu 11 years ago

Mark, can You upload on some server your HUD settings/popups files and share here? :)

EluSiVeMark 11 years ago

Hi udsifu,

No i cannot, got them from somebody else but under 1 condition: couldnt share it with others.

Question about the hand where you 3bet 75o in BB vs a reg BTN who folds to 77% of 3bets. This time he calls and our flop bluff fails. We decide to give up and villain bets river and we fold. Lets assume that villain checks back river with some kind of weak showdown value and wins. Do we now adjust our 3bet range vs villain because he's seen that we're 3betting him with hands like 75o or do we just keep being super wide and polarised assuming he won't adjust enough?

EluSiVeMark 10 years, 11 months ago

If we see him showing up with hands that we dont expect in his range more than once i would consider 3betting the next few hands just for value.
In general i dont expect someone with a 70%+ fold vs 3bet to adjust his gameplan totally (he might spazz once in a while after u 3bet him multiple times)

Zrebna 10 years, 10 months ago

Min 41.30

1.) 44 vs fish:
I think tbh you have choosen the worst option here^^

I know this for myself that in game you might underbet here to hope to induce when not sure what`s better (betting big or C/R in such spots) - but in practice I have found that underbets just do not induce as often as we would wish here...

So I think its either bet big or C/R and w/o more info I would vs recreational player vote for bet big (close to PS)

2.) 66

Would you raise vs a normal sized bet OTR?

General question:

Any specific reason why you make it OTB w 2.65x larger than most ppl who are 2xing it or close to...?

Btw.,

very nice vid!

Hudboxes as have been mentioned already have been little annoying. but not a big deal imo!

Would be also cool to see once a HH-review from you^.

Thx so far^^
