I think my call preflop is a clear mistake in hindsight, especially with 50nl rake.
I definitely like my play post-flop. He's absolutely crushing us on this board and we can easily already be dead with a 9 high draw. The K will often give us a dominated straight as well. Our equity realization will be low and calling will be -EV, especially when you consider that IP is meant to continue on turn with large overbets followed by river all-ins.
Hello great video! What hands are you targeting to fold with jqs since u said he shows a lot of strength?Like AK?And you rep the flush cause you play the flush exactly the same right?
Yeah I expect his Kx to be put in a terrible spot as played. We can also hope to just fold out some Ax combos that decided to bluff. If we don't bluff this combo we will be really struggling to find sufficient bluffing combinations (especially since this hand class will often have raised on an earlier street).
35:45 you open AKs BU 3x, tight SB 3bet 12bb and you 4bet almost 32bb. I assume you call his shove, isn't it -EV here? Wouldn't flat be better?
you are 130bb deep.
He'd have to be unbelievably tight for stacking off to be -EV. It's important to play plenty of raises here in order to prevent OOP from realizing equity with significant portions of his range.
So your opening a bit bigger because you want to play less hands because of rake. Therefore you need a tighter opening range as opponents will be playing tighter ranges against your bigger sizing?
I sometimes get confused into thinking we are making bigger bets therefore we need more bluffs therefore we should be opening wider, but actually because villains should be playing a tighter range against your bigger opening size you should be opening tighter. Is this right?
We don't have bluffs with RFIs as it's an entirely linear range. We just raise the stuff that we think will make money and fold the stuff that will have lose money (this is taking into consideration rake and the quality of players behind).
Some of your post there seems to be getting circular. I'm raising bigger because I'm opening tighter. My opponents are defending tighter because I'm opening bigger. That's basically it.

Thats why i really like your videos!.. simple language & solid content.. 21min: You nailed it in the hand vs me on the river. I had K9d ...
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Could you say something more about the 94s hand at 27 minute mark.
I'm not a good player, with my skill I wouldn't ever call this hand vs CO, you do and then you flop an OESD + BDFD and you fold to an almost half PSB.
Shouldn't you try to defend this hand here, not sure what you are looking for on the flop with 94s in a spot like this?
Thanks!

Raising fewer hands -> raising bigger
