Hello Ben.

4:32
Can you explain this call OTT with JJ a bit more please? In a model i ran, solver doesnt really like to call KK/JJ being in your position. And makes quite a sense to me logically given range vs range interactions.

Sauce123 6 years, 11 months ago

I re ran this with slightly dif assumptions I had saved over from previous work and turn looks to be mixed with both JJ and KK. JJ also bets fairly frequently.

how you remain focused in over 1 hour sessions? (avoid autopilot and thinking less where you maybe should think more)

fanculo 6 years, 11 months ago

True Ben, but it would be absolutely amazing to hear one of the best poker players in the world talk about his own approach to mental game and daily routines etc! :)

3rd minute T6o loose defend vs good regular? How wide you go with offsuit combos(having a broadway card or T)?

Jeff_ 6 years, 11 months ago

14 minute 2nd table J5o bb vs sb after some considerations you folded, so J5o is worse than T5o. Kinda make sense since our high card isn't making picture better. thats correct?

Jeff_ 6 years, 11 months ago

6th minute 25s seems like a clear bluff having complete bottom of our range and not blocking villain check/folds. Ranges are wide enough that we valubetting good 2 pairs and our hand can be bluff to 56 combo we will always bet.
And sorry for derailing, function '' update comment' have issue for me

Good catch Jeff, I ran a sim which says this was a fairly big mistake not to 3barrel. I think your reasoning is correct as well.

Jeff_ 6 years, 11 months ago

28th minute: what is your considerations on donking flop with T8 on 976? Think it is good opportunity and our hand is certainly decent candidate. What if flop was JT9 this one looks even better to implement some donks

Sauce123 6 years, 11 months ago

I think we need like 976s or somewhat bigger cards like JT9 as you said. It's probably reasonable to implement a leading range on 976+rr as well, but not important.

want to mention your own words in series of videos not so long go.
''Good to put opponent into a spot where they not familiar with tree'' (not exact words) :)

40minute Q8o vs Pastor. after small cbet, and that turn, what is your thoughts of 1/3 turn bet again to get value from wide flop opponent calling range and check turn less. Q8 though doesnt seems like a nice choice
and nice 1.06min nice small donk ott, I'm thinking about using bigger donk size 3/4 but If I apply it that means I will be donking much less frequency. With that 1/4 size we donk bet basically all our range if I'm not mistaken

Jeff_ 6 years, 11 months ago

57minute that call with A7c looks quite borderline on the turn already (considering villian does't suppose to be overbetting often). And on the river we end up with enough 2 pairs or Jx to make that call which not block Acehigh or Qhigh or T,9high.
Can't post picture of my results, but pio prefers Q7 over A7 ( 5bb difference)

at 1:03 against the ak8032 guy when we have AQ and check down and he shows KT. Vs a player like that, i often will fire a 1/4 turn bet w a hand like AQ intending to get called/folds from some marginal Ax, maybe even Kx occasionally. What do you think of this? AJ, AT, A9, maybe lower from him could just peel seeing the small sizing. prob an exploitative play, but something that i think does well because he is going to be betting most small pairs by the turn for protection

I very rarely see us really having Qc or Kc here, although I do agree that it's a good spot to value bet. How do we defend our range here against a raise?

TexasFoldUmmm 6 years, 10 months ago

Ben, I'm a huge fan of your play so I apologize if this question seems astonishingly fishy; however, why would you elect to not call the 33 versus a smaller raise size than a middling one?

Thanks for the videos and it's an honor just to be able to get a question through my man. It's at 1:40 in the video in the SB.

Dronet 6 years, 9 months ago

did you previously elaborate on the small SB open sizing, at lower stakes I'm mostly seeing and using a 3xish sizing.

Juan S 6 years, 8 months ago

If T8ss in EP is a dicey open pre, why is it a call to the 3B vs CO? Was the guys sizing just too small? (min 28)

Agarwa30 6 years, 2 months ago

i have run it once membership mainly to watch your videos. I'm wondering if you offer private coaching service though i guess a player of your caliber may not have time for coaching
