please do your live session videos...
this one is definitly not good

I respectfully disagree. Live session vids are great, but I find this type of content useful also.

I prefer this type of format, especially that it's one table in a replayer. There are already tons of videos of guys playing 2-3 tables of zoom, and they are ok, but I prefer just one table at a time.

can I ask what your tags mean?

Henry Lister 6 years ago

Tags change all the time and I use different tags now. In this video orange is a reg, blue is a weaker regular, pink recreational, purple very big recreational.

Hey everyone.

I have already recorded another couple of replayer videos to follow this one up but would appreciate knowing which style of videos you all prefer.

I really like the format, but I'm not sure picking only the biggest pots is a good idea.
Knowing that all the money will go in can influence the way we range the players, and it also makes it more likely to be either a cooler situation or a recreational going crazy, which are two types of hands that I think are less interesting from a strategy point of view.

The same format but with medium pots would be a lot better in my opinion.

like this format... discussion of ranges extremely helpful and better content than live which has too much folding until noteworthy hand(s)... unless multiple tables, which I don't mind.

Williemarto 6 years ago

Yea i really like the replayer videos as we can go deeper into the hand. just a sugestion maybe organize by lines for example where OOP checks IP bets OOP raises. or concepts like overbetting / under betting, check raising the turn or river etc. i enjoy your content please keep it up :)

Enjoyed the video, similar to high stakes video discussion of the biggest pots of the week..if you can show real dollars instead of BB, maybe a little better..It definitely improves my hand reading hearing you talk through the HH..

Could you please, get together with another trainer on this site for a HU match content series?

It is bit nicer if you add some graphics of ranges by using equilab or flopzilla which make it possible to see some hand strength, equity. I saw you somehow being confused especially when come up with bluffs. You can just prepare those but it is also fine to just show one of those programs and make ranges more visible. Anyway I like your videos and this was fine new format.

Don’t leave a lot of feedback but felt I had to with this video...

Thought this video was fantastic. Really enjoyed your analysis and thought process. Sometimes I find live sessions instructors get lost in the action and the specific spots are all too easily overlook.

Would really enjoy more videos in this format as it gets both instructor and viewer to start focusing on ranges and debating on what makes sense from a range construction.

Thanks again would recommend 10/10

IMO the format is good. But I believe it would be better if you just went through your own session 1 hand at at time for VPIP=true and talked in detail for whatever interesting spot comes up. Guessing at how 2 ranges interact with each other seems not best.

adrissan 6 years ago

Nice format! We can go deeper into each hand. As someone already said, it would be nice to use tools like Powerequilab or Flopzilla to show the ranges...

Nice video Henry, you provide good content.

Couple thoughts on the last hand -
You stated that you thought the BB played the hand best of the 2 (despite both playing bad).
I think Buttons river value shove for 1/2 pot is actually good considering how hands played out. BB I think 100% on turn has 33,44 or Adx (prob mostly Ad2x, Ad5x). Blocking 44 his range is so weighted to Adx on turn and makes easy river value shove hoping to get called by the Ad combos.

Don't like the turn raise, but In position river play is acutally good imo cause OOP shoves turn w all / most flushes and even some 44/33 so A4 is almost the nuts other than 33.

Henry Lister 6 years ago

Hey Matthew. Thanks for the positive feedback.

The issue I have regarding the buttons play OTT is that raising to deny/thin value against Adx seems pretty poor when he is drawing incredibly thin vs any better hand (set, flush for the most part).

Also OOP can now just rip Adx as a semibluff knowing that IP player is making this kind of play.

I think you must also remember that BB will have an abundance of flushes which IP is drawing extremely thinly against, so to try and raise and bloat the pot OTT I struggle to see as an attractive option.

River I think is also a bad play unless BB is a huge station as when BB is completely uncapped OTT (therefore OTR also) buttons river shove mostly gets called by only sets+ making it an extremely unattractive option vs any competent player.

To me the hand looks like two weaker players clicking buttons unaware of both their own and their opponents' range and rather shovelling in money based on absolute hand strength over relative hand strength.

Good video. Replayer analysis with one table is always more beneficial as you can go deeper. Perhaps take your own session and run it through in a replayer but do an entire session or large block of a session and show that. You can quickly click past hands you don't vpip but then we get to see more of what is being folded by position. Then you can spend a little more time analysing the hands you do vpip.

This format is perfect for why I think you're a good instructor. I'd rather have you take time and say everything you want to say instead of rushing it in live play. Though both formats are cool though. Great video!
