Hey Stefan, I agree, really enjoyed this one, the pace is steady and your thought process is clear (I enjoy your live vids as well though, respect to anyone that can live commentate multi-tabling Zoom and still make sense!).

With the AKJ7ddd (sorry, I can't remember the time it came up!) MP limps and you just fold the CO, seems to me like a good spot to isolate a potentially weaker player. Is that a standard fold for you or was it just a bit of an autopilot?
Was just wondering as at @4:45 with AQJ8 in the BB, weaker MP player limps and BTN iso's, you think before folding, were you considering flatting to let the weaker player in multiway or making a light 4bet? I always go back and forth with tightening/loosening up preflop...

With the Q10108ssdd, I think I would often be checking back the J 6 2ss flop. Against a hand that is just check/folding, we don't need a ton of protection and may induce stabs on future streets/he might rep cards we hit. The majority of cards 7 thru A give us a straight draw for some added equity and we have the potential backdoor flushdraw you mention. As you say, it sucks to not see a turn with this hand!

Thanks, look forward to more.

Hey Jack,
Thx for your feedback and questions!
The AKJ7 I would usually open. So either I was autopiloting or maybe there were some aggressive players behind.
With the AQJ8 I wasn´t thinking about 3betting actually just debating between a call or a fold. Think it´s close that one and wouldn´t have hated a call either.
The QTT8 hand is a interesting spot and I think youre right and checking back is better.
One more reason I could think of o bet it would be that if he check calls the flop we might be able to barrel him off a better hand when we pick up some extra equity. Maybe against very passive opponents a cbet is still a good option.

Hi,
very nice vid. I like the session review much more than the live vids, because you can really take your time talking through spots.

Hi Stefan,
could you tell which Hud stats you use at the table?

Stefan Legat 10 years ago

Hey Mike,
I use the default HM2 HUD which is a little embarrassing :)
It´s just VPIP/PRF/Steal/3bet
AF/Cbet/FCbet/WTSD

I compensate my small hud by using the popups a lot. Im working on making my hud a little bigger but im still not sure which stats i want to put into it since i dont want to have a very big hud.

Mike 10 years ago

Same problem here, would be great if there were a little footage about PLO Hud ...

Stefan Legat 10 years ago

Think so too. In case I fix my HUD in the near future I would do it, but I´m afraid it will take some time since I don´t mind my current hut + popups too much.

Hey Stefan watching this vid now I really like your videos @20:19 guy calls you with top set KK98. If i am in his spot i am almost always folding given this was 4 way and you front bet bet bet my question is if this is wrong. I am pretty sure I fold in this spot close to 100% of the time.

Stefan Legat 10 years ago

Hey angel (sounds funny saying that),
Good question and tricky spot.
In spots like this if im villain i ask myself if the other guy can have bluffs and if yes how likley it is. in this hand i could have led out with the nut wrap and then pot the turn if i picked up a FD to go with it. or i could have had a hand like mine, a made hand with a OESD to go maybe a 765x also with backdoor fush draw. so the question is if your villain would semi bluff against 3 people and then if so how likely it is. for the second question it help if you have some kind of blockers. in our hand he blocks the wrap but also 85 which i´d say kind of evens out. so im not sure if villain is getting the right price to call but if i had to guess id say yes and i think this could be solved with pokerjuice quite easily but i don´t have it o_0 maybe someone could do the calculation for us giving me a range of nutstr8 a few 2ndnutstr8 maybe only with good back doors or something like T953, some nutwraps with TP or decent backdoors and some sets and 2pairs with a 5 for the OESD and assuming that i only barrel the turn with my nonstr8 hands when i pick up a flushdraw.

9:04 Table 3 As2sAd5cTs board:
Heuristically seems like it would be rare at these stakes to find opponents who would check quickly on the river holding a full house. It also seems likely that even if he is capable of folding a flush, he probably won't do so when confronted with a small bet. Actually, I don't think you should be too worried about c/r either. If anything, it seems that sitting in his seat on the river with an inordinate number of dry trips relative to checked boat combos, that he might be inclined to over bluff with a c/r facing with a small bet. Therefore, small bet seems the exploitative play. Or do you think some of my assumptions are inaccurate?

Stefan Legat 10 years ago

Hey,
I could see him insta checking A2 or A5 OTR (even i think youre right and its very unlikely) and I could see him folding a flush even against a smallish bet because its hard for me to have air and he probably wouldn´t assume that i vbet a low flush or bluff small with trips. i agree that he almost never has AT when he snap checks the river so i think youre right and a small bet to induce a bluff raise by trips and get sometimes called by worse is a very good play.
