Minute 16, table 3: You decide to overbet river. I do like the overbet in the sense that he is capped for the most part. (Occasionally has a combo of AK but most of the time AK gets 3bet preflop). But I don't see very many bluffs in your range that take this line to balance out all your value hands with such a large sizing. Because of that do you still like an overbet?
Minute 26:50, table 2: You 3bet TT MP vs UTG. Do you 3bet there with TT as a standard or was it because you had player marked as fun player? It doesn't appear that you have many hands on the player. Without reads my 3bet range is polarized to QQ+ and bluffs vs a UTG range. Is this too tight?
Minute 16 I can use hands like QJ QT TJ to balance.
26:50 All yellow players are fun players 99% so is going to be always a great idea to 3bet TT IP against them specially if we are 140bb deep, against a regular player the std play is going to be call preflop.
1:47 with AQ ott you bet 40 into 77, is there a reason you dont bet bigger? Is your range for double barreling Kx+ and bluffs? If it is shouldnt you be more polarized with your sizing?
10:53 with 99 could you lead turn here? If so what sizing should we use?
19:22 QT what makes this a good hand to x/r river? What would be a bad hand to use?
Thanks, nice video
H1: Sizing doesn't really matter OTT. Hero can bet this or a larger sizing if he has AK/AA/KK and just shove OTR. Betting this size sets up a nice river SPR. Yeah he can bet bigger as he is polarised, but it doesn't really matter if he has one of his value hands as he will want a hand like JJ to call when it is drawing to 2 live outs vs most of hero's value range.
H2: Having a leading range here makes alot of sense. If we lead JX, 99, 77 for value, we can have qts as a bluff but It feels hard to balance out our value/bluffing range here unless we start donking blockers like t9s. Unsure about this.
H3: You can rep boats with this line and hero blocks tt and qq otr. If villain has a non nut flush he will probably fold otr. Villain has nflush and blocks top boat so easy call.
1:47 I do not need to bet bigger because I will not have to overbet the river with my Kx or better, at the same time I give him the chance to call the turn again and fold the river what makes a lot of money.
10:53 With a hand this strong I do not see any reason to lead the turn, I would fold a lot of hands that have 0% equity and he is always going to bluff some of them. If you find any reason to lead I would prefer to play very explotative and lead small with this hand, but I am very tricky sometimes :).
19:22 HenryListers answer is just what I think.
nice video thx a lot! I love your accent, listening to "boosted draw" cracks me up :P
any video recommendation on 1/3 cbets on 3bet pots? I'd like to know the theory behind it, in the micros everyone's 2/3 pot button mashing
Ty I will take note of this and I hope to pronunce it right on my next videos, but I already have one recorded so you will listen some more boosted lol.
I do not remember any specific video about 1/3 bets but i recomend you just start doing that, it will be surprising to you how people fold against 1/3.
7.54: Is this a std call? If we call here are we just hoping villain checks back and gives up most his draws otr? Would folding ott not be better..? It seems like a loose call if we plan on folding to every river where we don't pick up a pair and we block his 6x combos which are part of his bluffing range.
18:30: C bet seems really loose on this board, would a check fold not be better? If we're c betting this combo I feel like we're cbetting ATC here.
7:54 I am not sure about this hand, I know that we are blocking 65 76 68 what is not good for calling the turn but he can not be betting here all the time 3 streets because I am going to have a lot of two pairs to call and better draws.
18:30 I think it is a very std cbet on this dry flop, he has to fold a lot of hands and we have a backdoor and two overcards and our range is not caped to top two pair.
17.48 wouldn't you think that blockbetting 1/3 pot here is better than x/c?i Think hes betting most of his range on the river there, even A high will be turned into a bluff here by villain sometimes i think.
the 1/3 pot bet's intent is just to fold out air and ace high, which villain should bet there almost always i think,i just dont see how villain ever thinks ace high is good there.Yea we do isolate ourselves with better pairs sometimes, but at least villain cant put us in a bad spot by betting 60 percent pot when our best bluffcatcher is 5x,so i think blockbetting here is better with our range.1/3 pot bet only needs to work a small amount of time anyways
I know what you are talking about but the problem on this hand is that he is betting almost all his air on the flop (he always have a backdoor) and he decided to check back, so I think he has a pair almost always. It is hard to know if he could bluff something like AT but the std in 1/2Zoom is to check back.
I prefer the check raise on the flop because I have all the 64o and he does not.
I am not sure about his cbet on the flop, this is a flop I check back a lot when I play 400+, in 200 It can be a good idea to cbet more often, anyway I think he plays all his 6x this way probably.
I hear absolutely no thought process or reasoning for your plays. three minutes in and it is "here I'm going to 3bet", "here I have to bet", "I will bet any river."
i don't want to sound like a prick but there is no training happening. it's simply, "watch me play poker." from there it is up to the viewer to draw conclusions as for the "whys."
I think I have stated this before and it's not only you Javier. I know there are time constrictions also, but as a paying customer I simply expect to hear a bit more detail. I am grateful for yours and others videos but I simply wish you could go into a bit more detail more often than you do
I guess you're right , but I cant explain a lot hands in depth while playing three zoom tables. The solution would be to play two tables but then you would see less hands in the video.
is it normal defend vs open from CO , K5s on the BB? is not too loose??, i donìt like the bet river table1 with QJo against a fish (green colored is a fish i think), i mean he has got a lot of Ax more than a reg, thanks for the video fo course

Nice video. I enjoyed the 1/3psb c-bets OOP. Didn't really see any mistakes from my POV, wp and thanks.
Nice video as always

Regarding the first hand i think Javier can balance it with bluffs like J10s,Q10s,QJs,JJ and QQ Which have good blockers

Lemme try and answer this:

QT is a good hand to x/r river because it blocks Jdx,Kdx and Adx

If villain bets most of his range otr then surely x/c is the best option as betting a small sizing isos hero against better pairs?
If villain is likely to check back ace high then i like a small blocking bet to extract value from ace high and lose less vs stronger pairs.
the 1/3 pot bet's intent is just to fold out air and ace high, which villain should bet there almost always i think,i just dont see how villain ever thinks ace high is good there.Yea we do isolate ourselves with better pairs sometimes, but at least villain cant put us in a bad spot by betting 60 percent pot when our best bluffcatcher is 5x,so i think blockbetting here is better with our range.1/3 pot bet only needs to work a small amount of time anyways

20.08 wouldnt x/r be better than x/c OTT? think he should be checking back his entire range here OTT so his bet doesnt really make much sense .
I prefer the check raise on the flop because I have all the 64o and he does not.

K5s are the nuts BBvsCO open, you can mixed between calling and 3betting as a bluff.
