I think we only need to see the hands you play, but we should at least see what hands you folded and a quick explanation as to why, and then skip to the next hand.
The hand @ 22:50 (A8o from the bb) - did you consider 3 betting this hand here? Vs a 24 bb stack it could be an option as you have an Ace blocker and you have room to 3 bet-fold given the stack sizes. If we decide to flat like you did with a hand like A8o that doesn't have much playability post flop, it will be hard to continue on any wettish flops that we miss (obv we can chk call dry boards as a bluff catcher though so thats a plus).
I didn't really consider 3 betting it. He has a fold to 3b stat of 0 over 300+ hands so its very unlikely he folds which leaves us playing an inflated pot oop with A8o. He is also pretty short which means he has an easy reshove either preflop or postflop over a c bet. All those factors mean its not the greatest spot to turn our hand into a 3b/f.
Sorry for the delayed reply. Was in Scotland on holiday. I think I would have folded to a 4b against him since he folded to 3bs only 17% but had never 4b. So his 4b shove range will probably be very value heavy. Plus at this point in the trny with a really decent stack I don't need to be making marginal calls for big chunks of it.
Hi, Owen. Just catching up. Quick question, is your play on the direct bubble ever affected by the big stack on the other table (as we can see at the very end of the video, there is only one other big stack at the FT)? Is any decision to call off a 20-25 bb stack during bubble play ever affected by the chip count you would have when losing & having to face what could well be a double your size chip leader at FT, instead of an even stack if folding this particular spot? Anyways, never considered it myself, just popped into my head while watching. Great vid, thx a lot :)
isnt a shove at 11:40 with AQ fine too?
Imo it might be a bit too small 3bet because he is almost
inclined to flat with that price and what do we then do on 568 board or low
boards like that with that SPR? So i think maybe shoving gets you in less tricky spots, but I guess 3betting might induce him to shove some bluffs maybe...
I guess it also depends on his flat to 3bet in position stats, but i wouldn't like to play AQ to a flat there...
Also at 15min with 67o is it profitable to shove? BB is really tight and I guess it depends on what hands open limper is limping with, but if there is still a lot of SC in there a shove might be okay? Although i guess i do this a bit too often, shoving weakish hands in sb when people have limped and they end up calling KTo or something...
With the AQ when we shove we kind of allow him to play pretty well against us since he can call with stuff for value and fold all his bluffs. When we 3b we at least give him the option to do something stupid with A3s type hands. We also give the BB a chance to shove in with worse too. When you get to thinking about what am I going to do on a 568 flop etc you start to move away from what the best play is with the info we know right now. We don't know what the flop is going to bring so we just base our play on what is most profitable now. If the flop does come 568 I would imagine I am going to be either cb getting it in or more likely just ch/c depending on opponents and betsize.
I think shoving with the 67o is pretty bad in this spot. Even if someone limps a lot we can find a much better range to shove here that doesn't include 67o. Usually people who limp a lot also call shoves like this with most broadway and Ax hands so we wont be in great shape that often. I think risking 2k as a call here instead of a 40k shove makes our variance much lower and is probably a more profitable way of playing the hand in the long run.

Sweet vid. Seeing just the hands you played is best IMO.

Hey Owen thx for the vid, had a quick Q:

Hi Owen. Great video, I love your playing style. One question on the 66 on minute 43. Would you consider calling a 4bet shove preflop?

At around 14:00 you call 4bet shove with AQ against AJ. Would you have played it the same with a weaker Ace? Thanks!
