Yeah, I like the way you present the different hands. Your fluency in English makes me want to watch you way more. It can be hard to learn from a guy who stumbles over most words. I also like the insight in the various betting decisions you make, very good :)
Thanks for the great video. I am thinking about A8o hand (in 13:50) and cbetting is definitely the option. Maybe against this player, it would be better to check back and get him opportunity to bluff on later street and call him down. Also he can check raise on flop with worst hand than you have.
I don't mind your logic too much but I think in this spot but I still like a small c bet. He has a huge range most of which has missed everything on this board. I think your thinking in this spot might be to do with being slightly afraid of what 'might' happen when we bet (he ch/rr) whereas you will just take down the pot straight away a huge % of the time and deny him a chance to see a turn with probably 6 outs.
what is the % value that pops up beside the players names and the ICM icon? How do you get those and how do they help you?
Amit Patel11 years agoThe percentage just shows how much equity you have vs the opponents hand. Its only useful when the hole cards are revealed as otherwise it just gives you equity vs every other hand. Its just a part of the pokertracker hand replayer.
I do think its important however I like to have a balance between not having a hugely cluttered screen and having the info I need. 3b stats are also misleading unless you check the position they are doing it from so this would force me to have a whole new line added to my HUD which for me is a bit too much. I'm fine just having the info on the pop up screen.
The only stat I have found is 'Open 4b+ Preflop' however I doubt this is a stat which would be too much use to you as the sample size needed to get any relevant data for this would be huge.
Hey guys...thanks for all the feedback. I will get back to all specific questions either later or tomorrow. I'm helping my mum out with her business accounts today (a lot of fun!!!) so don't have time to respond with proper answers yet.
38'45: AJo it's a bet/call flop? Why do you prefer bet smaller? if you decide to go broke in this flop you think you have more FE if you bet smaller flop?
Its not that we have more FE. Its that we are giving him a lot more room to think he has FE. He is pretty short so if we go half pot or over it kinda would look to him as though we will never fold so he will almost never stick it in with something worse than we have but when we make it small it looks to him like we can fold after our bet so it might encourage him to make some weird ch shove with hands we are ahead of.
Seems reasonable to me. The difference in this spot with KQ is that when he shoves we are always behind his Ax whereas with AJ we dominate all but A2 and A3 since every Ax better than AJ we assume he plays more aggro preflop.
where u open the 56 s and cbet on the 239 board and 2barrel on the a on the turn what is your plan on the river if he calls there ? i mean he mostly dont have ak or aq becauce hes probably 3 betting pre but might have some hands like aj ats and sets and stuff are u going for the tripple barrel or just let it go
I think I give up on the river in this situation mainly because if we shove river he wont have too much to call compared to what is in the pot already. He also wont really have any draws when he calls turn apart from maybe broadway diamonds. If I wanted to empty the clip I think I would c bet turn smaller so we can put more pressure on him on the river.
Hope you keep making these at this level, it helps us on the micros even though 11r is probably out of some of our range of games.
The thing I like is your break down of cbets, sizes and so on. This is where a lot of us smaller buyin folk struggle, not knowing how and when to widen someones shove range for instance with a smaller bet. I think the replayer is best for these concepts because it gives you more time to explain.
Really like your HUD especially that you can see how much everyone opens from which positions I use the raise first stat but its often misleading because it does not show you from what positions they raise first in. Could you share your HUD config perhaps?
Hopefully this works......thought I had uploaded it a few days ago but the post isn't here lol. Can someone let me know this works this time plz. Thanks and sorry for the delay getting it to u guys.
On 16 minute, i think its good game frm Quentin73 to fold here a hands like 99-TT, even when he get such a great odds (over 26%). Cause vs QQ+ range he got over 18% equity, and i dont think we ever bluff in spot like this.
On 17-30, i think shove with AT with 10bb deep is standart here. Wondras is an agressive player, i think he open over 20% frm utg. So we stay good vs this range with AT. And if he folds, open shove with ATo here looks standart.
at 37:15 are you really always folding QJo here?
I mean yes he minraises UTG in a spot where he could shove,
but you are just getting pretty good odds to peel?
These are the spots, that are tough for me. I know
that I might easily go broke if I hit a top pair here with
these stack sizes against the top of his range(overpairs)
but a lot of pros also argue defending much more due to pot odds.
It also helps to get stolen less from in future I guess as a sub advantage.
Would you flat 67s rather than QJo as we are dominated less often
and flop really well?
How would you play 22-77 for example against this player with this stack size?
Shove/fold/call?
I would certainly be calling this now. This is a tournament I played over a year ago I think so since then my BB defending range has widened a lot. I think even with stuff like 22 you can just chuck in the extra BB here. What you call here with depends on the openers range. If they are really tight from EP you can fold a lot but if they open wide then you can flat pretty wide.
Around the minut 34 with pocket 2, i prefer just to check on that flop, one of the reasons is because he have such a big stack that he can flat us with a lot of hands of his range. Also you just have 2 outs to make your hand because when you raise that hand pre i think you are just playing for get a set and play for set value. Also if you cbet that flop, most of the villains will flat us a lot of times for such a big stack, and when you dont get your 2 outs on turn you will be playing check over there and most of the rivers he will bet for bluff or value. I think there is no need to make a big pot with such smaller pairs.
Great Video!
At around 35:00 You talk about how KTs is good against villains' 9 BB shove range, and how you did not expect him to have 87o.
Being new to tournament poker, I'm just curious how you've come up with players' shove ranges and what did you expect skoolbuly's hand to have been in that situation?
Thanks!

Amit got it right thanks :)
nice vid man! why dont u have the 3bet stat on your hud? dont u think its pretty important one and takes too much time to pop up him?
one more : do u use pt4 right? im trying to find cold 4bet % and seems that they dont have that, am i missing something?

Would really appreciate your hud aswell, just go to edit hud options, options, export profile :)

Owen, this might be asking a tad too much, but can you upload the updated version of your HUD config as it is different from what it used to be?
Thanks a lot.
Not done this in a while so hope this works!

What if you got check/raised on the flop 42:17 with AA, would you still just go with it?
Thanks!
