Hi Kevin thanks for the video,
11:27 Why is J9 a continue here on the turn? Do you ever lead river after x/c here?

Kevin Rabichow 7 years, 6 months ago

I suspect you're thinking about this hand too strictly with regards to having the best hand at showdown when we miss (this is, however, why i'm willing to consider x/c as a method of continuing and not simply x/r or fold). I think if we rank our hands by equity vs villain's range, and also consider the implied odds of having 6 outs to the nuts, we'd place good OESD like this one in the top 50-55% or so that we're supposed to continue vs this bet.

At 33:59, you mentioned you will be using a smallish sizing, and that means you cant bt these hands very often. Why is it ? Doesnt betting small allows you have a high betting frequency?

Kevin Rabichow 5 years, 11 months ago

Ah, I think I meant my frequency would be low with strong floats like KQ (rather than something lower in my range). Small sizing means the number of bluffs we'll use is relatively low, and will be weaker in my range.

Hey Kevin, why are you likely to check back Qj more on turn at 32:14 than 32 or your 76s and such?

Kevin Rabichow 5 years, 11 months ago

Hey! I believe I said QJ is less likely to check here - basically because it's a stronger bluff candidate with good blockers for tripling among a lot of potential bluffing hands. I think I'm a bit more likely to give up turn with very weak draws like this one, and then use this as a potential bluff for when he checks back turn.
