Zoom50 Low SPR spot vs perceived maniac

Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 (6 Players) BN: $114.74
SB: $97.47
BB: $72.33 (Hero)
UTG: $31.50
MP: $172.15
CO: $52.76
Preflop ($0.75) Hero is BB with T K 3 A
UTG calls $0.50, 3 folds, SB raises to $1.50, Hero raises to $5.00, UTG calls $4.50, SB calls $3.50
Flop ($15.00) Q 8 A
SB checks

Our friend in the SB is running 90/60 3bet 40 cbet 100% over the massive sample of 17 hands.
I know most guys in the pool that play somewhat frequent, so he likely won't turn out to be a nit or a regular.

OTF SPR is 4,5, "readless" I'm not sure whether pot/calling will be +EV as we need 45%, UTG will fold a lot since he has an RFI of >40 in UTG.

What's my line? Bet fold semi big or just shove and hope that he is as crazy as the stats make him look? Checking seems to be the far worst option, although usually with stacks as they are defiitely not a bad one, but as mentioned UTG just wont have enough hands to shove with.

I like how the first 2 answers already disagree on this spot, I tend to err more on the side of Pheerox here, if SPR would be slightly smaller than 4 I would be definitely sure that b/calling would be +EV, but given the lack of reads on how he is playing I have trouble constructing a stackoff range for him that I would be happy with.

Even if you are going to make a thin fold vs a SB shove, it's still a bad idea not to bet the flop.

I would pot it and go with it. I'm not happy to get it in with the SB but we have enough evidence that his ranges are wide. Very happy to GII with UTG.

Whether or not you stack off vs SB won't change the EV of betting drastically since it's probably pretty close. It will remain pretty high regardless.

Yeah I thought I wrote in OP that checking would be our worst option, so I was just torn between b/calling and b/folding vs SB, which as you mentioned should be close, and the reason I opened the thread.

I definitely agree that betting and getting it in with UTG is going to be hugely +EV. I was just talking about folding if SB shoves over the top but the more I think about the less I want to fold against him considering his stats. I think I was giving him way too tight of a range.

It´s a bet-call since we have a very high betting frequency anyways beside many reasons to bet here and our hand is probably to strong to bet-fold against a reasonably widened shoving range.

But without flushdraw once we do get shoved over this is surely not a "huge +EV" spot. We won´t be ahead very often either.

Forgetting his stats for a minute, raise-> 3bet, call. Flop 1 pair + gutter on FD board in position. Feels like we can spew bet/call but pref to check back tbh, he’s going to stab with dogshit a lot on turn anyway if we do that. Just my humble op.

Interesting spot. I would go for 1/2 pot c-bet on the flop and against a perceived maniac i would stack-off vs raise. I expect such an opponent to shove with a wider range against a half-pot bet than against a full-pot bet.
