Final Pot
nassander has K 8 A 8 nassander wins $18.25

Only about 20 hands on villian, no reads.

Deciding between leading to 3-bet or x/r the riv to get the most $ in - I think I made the wrong choice.

Checking

AKxx - checks back - bad

Straights - checks back - bad

Flushes - probably check back - bad

Full houses - bet - good

Betting (~$1.90-$2.50)

AKxx - possibly calls - good

Straights - possibly calls - good

Flushes - calls - good

weak full houses - probably raise calls

Ax Full houses - raise calls - good

Summary

Too many hands check behind that could call a small a bet.

Hands that are going to call my riv x raise are also going to raise my lead and then I can put the sword in with the 3 bet.

Thoughts?

:) your breakdown of what he would check back most often is good, and same time would call value bet if u made 1, so in majority of cases u would miss value in the spot,  but  i don't have a feeling you lost any value by missing to 3 bet, it is super rare that PLO10 villain reraises without nuts ( with lower full houses ) so  getting opportunity to check raise and be called is best possible outcome for you in this hand

I'm not gonna comment on c/r or donk but you should checkraise large on river. Only fish mincheckraise.

I think that you out lined the proper thought process pretty good in this spot and identified the problem with your x/r.  I would be leading a lot on the river here.  Our range is full of a lot of value hands that will miss out a bet if villain checks the river IP (non nut houses, flush hands).

If he's good he should fold everything but FH to a lead because you don't have any bluffs so the amount of hands that he checks back but calls a lead with goes to zero.
