Hey RIO'ers,

I'm relatively new to PLO and not much of a HU player so I'd definitely take some advice on this hand.

Here Villain is unknown, 3bets us so I would tend to think that calling IP with a double suited hand is okay (I guess).

On the flop I think he'll continue with almost 100% of his range, we have 2nd pair, and we have some outs against big pairs (QQ/KK/AA). I prefer floating rather than bluff raising since it allows us to realize our equity (FD+GS).

On the turn when he checks, I think I can make him fold a lot of AKQx hands that have good equity against us, but again, not really sure about my play.

On the river I just give up, I don't think we represent a lot except a J or a straight and it looks a lot like a busted draw. Do you think shoving as a bluff is a better option here?

Thanks a lot for you input on this one guys!

P.S. By the way I also posted an unanswered thread on HU adjustments here, if you have any input as well that'd be great :)

nothing wrong with flatting but with pair + gs + fd I would just go with my hand 100bb deep. Turn play betting seems fine but I wouldn't expect many c/f, that's why I kinda dislike the idea of turn bet and give up river (on this runout). But I guess we are supposed to have some give ups? But we can vbet river Jx 75 which is a decent chunk of hands.

Edit: Would size up turn as we have a polar range at this point and betting big should damage him more as all our bluffs have decent equity

His cbetting range would have to be very strong for a flop jam to be bad. Flatting doesn't seems great as any card we hit on the turn will likely slow villain Down. (with the exception of a 4) unless he has made a bigger flush or has good blockers. (May have to make some Tricky call downs) and I doubt we cld get 2 streets of value on spade turns and brick rivers when checked to.

I Like the advice on betting bigger to Punish his x/c range on turn.

Calling pre-flop is fine. I play HU almost exclusively and open 95%ish and call close to 100% of 3bets.

Flop - Just call is the right play imo. Your hand is ok. but raising and getting it in isolates you vs a range which has you in pretty bad shape (overpair with spades, NFD, combo draws and sets/2-pairs). Obviously you do ok vs some of that range, but just call and play turns in position is much better.

Turn - It's an annoying spot but i usually just check back and take my equity. When you bet, you rep Jx and on a flop like this your calling range is going to be so wide so it's tough to rep Jx. I don't expect many folds.

River - Having bet this turn, i'd feel inclined to bluff this river with this hand. You block the straight and some full house combos, and don't block any of the high-spade missed draws. It's not great, but i'd jam here. Don't have many better bluffing hands imo on this river.

In villain's shoes, I'd expect most of the fd combos to be jamming this flop so if a spade hits on the turn, I'm going to be barrelling it quite often. Also, is villain just mindlessly cbet/folding here that often? Don't really think so.
