I this is a clear x-c rather than lead on turn right?
1- Get him to valuebet/protection bet some worse hands (not too many thought, 9xxx and 1p hands that didn't cbet).
2- Potentially saves money vs. 6xxx (although you can make a strong case for folding to turn raise vs unknown).
3- Biggest reason is that it allows him to bluff with very little equity. And I have a hand that I am very comfortable calling 2 bets (on most rivers and vs normal bet sizes).

Only reasons to lead are for protection and to get him to call with hands that he would x back when x'd to. Right?

Thanks

You can lead the turn as a sort of value/protection bet. It's not super likely that he has anything you need to protect against though. Any decent straight draw would have bet the flop I'd think. I stab a lot in this spot, so I often get two streets of value against any overpair.

Here I think it'll be hard to get value whatever you do though. He just doesn't have anything or he would have bet the flop. If he's the type to go for a delayed c-bet then x/c would be better, but otherwise I'd just lead.

Either check/calling the turn or leading is fine vs. a zoom unknown. He's probably already clicked the fold button, so It's not going to make a ton of difference really. Any overpair and any straight draw bets this flop. Any 9 + a couple overs bets it, too. Against a reg or a player you have some history with, I prefer c/c turn and c/c virtually any river since many of them will make random stabs since you checked twice and you will get them to bet a lot of hands that they otherwise wouldn't call with. You might risk losing here and there to a random 6 or a backdoor flush occasionally, but them's the breaks.

Don't really play Zoom so maybe it's not as applicable here, but I prefer leading turn for balance purposes. Our hand is super face-up when we check-call and there are lots of rivers an observant opponent can barrel relentlessly. Having the A clubs also allows us to barrel club rivers credibly and make his life tough with any flush.
