Tuff spot with Top and Bottom pair

Blinds: $0.01/$0.02 (6 Players) BN: $2.33
SB: $2.75 (Hero)
BB: $2.00
UTG: $5.83
MP: $4.23
CO: $2.37
Preflop ($0.03) Hero is SB with Q 6 9 A
2 folds, CO calls $0.02, BN folds, Hero calls $0.01, BB checks
Flop ($0.06) J 9 A
Hero bets $0.05, BB folds, CO calls $0.05
Turn ($0.16) J 9 A 6
Hero bets $0.13, CO calls $0.13
River ($0.42) J 9 A 6 3
Hero checks

Flop I lead because of protection but I also considered checking beause my hand is not so good :/ ...

On the turn I felt confident because he just called... however I believe he can still have some AJxx in his range so I'm still a bit cautious... But I have to bet turn.

On the river I don't think a worse hand calls me. So I play check/decide.
How would you play the river?

I think people generally underbluff so I lean towards check/folding vs any size.

You said in one of the other posts from this morning that people at this stake play pretty face up, and usually "announce" that they have a strong made hand like set/two pair...

Given the flop texture and the fact that we have an ace we have to at least discount and perhaps even remove AJ from his range.... Sure, it's still "possible", as is JJ.

So what else exactly are they valuebetting having taken such a passive line so far? KQ66? QT33? Honestly, c/folding this river is our worst option I think.

I would actually expect to see a ton of AKxx, KQTx/QT8x no hearts, or just random low flush draw type hands here.

To me, and I could be very wrong here, this is a clear spot to bet/fold for value against the average micro station villains who will call down A6 and think it's good some of the time and c/c against aggressive regs who have no showdown value with KQT no hearts. Of course, we will lose some of the time, I just don't expect it to be that often...

I think you're right although if I were in his shoes I wouldn't be thrilled to broke AJxx without anything to back it up.

Still agree that 1/2 pot bet/fold would have been better than check/folding.
And also agree that check/call is good vs aggro regs but people play really passively at this stake so vs the population bet/fold is probably the best line as you pointed out.
