theory: 3b oop 100bb dry paired flop

So standard spot (HU or 6max) we 3bet 100bb, flop e.g. 773r. My default plan is cbet very high%, but once I start to face an agressive opponent it's start to get tricky.

My question is, do we ever have a 4bet range on the flop, eventhough it does not make that much sense since we'll have an overpair way more often (e.g. we 3bet 11%: we'll have AA,KK,QQ = 40% of that range, and trips around 12,5%). So versus agressive opponent, we are kind of handcuffed with our airy hands or do we still 4bet some (exploiting his exploitive strategy ?!). I guess checking alot more versus these is a good idea too.

You get the idea, what's your plan/thoughts here with your ranges? What about wet trip flops, think that's quite a different story, where we can have a 4bet range and more CC or CR ranges etc (e.g. 776s way different imo) !?

Thanks a lot!

Personally I tink 3beting 11% oop in a 6max game is too much.

Generally these paired boards are so tough to play because even the otherwise weak players realize that just folding every time on a paired board isn't an option and that you can't have a hand all that often and start playing back at you.

Just find the line that is best vs your particular opponent and then balance it. Against a barelly opponent that attacks weakness it might be c/c, c/c. Against others it might be a small cbet, etc. And then worry about your balance.

There are different way to get to overall balance. Just think about it. Check your entire range otf as you said doesn't mean you can't bluff. Your range still has villain's range dominated, he has to check behind a ton and you can still achieve blanace by bluffing later in the hand and incorporating some c/c otf c/r turn lines.

Cbetting small can be balanced by clicking it back etc.

There are always more ways to gain overall balance/play well. It obv depends on villain and on the board texture. 772 is very different to 77K etc.

You probably want to still cbet a pretty high % against most people and then develop a mixed strategy or calling and rasing small. Makes most sense to raise with some air and your stronger hands like A7xx or if you somehow have 73xx. With your bluffing hands mix in a few that can turn good card i.e str8s in this example etc. Then call a lot of your other continuing hands like overpairs or weaker 7x hands this will prevent you from always building the pot especially deep against worse 7s and prevent you from always getting barreled if you just flat. It will also allow you to bluff and get the maximum when you are on the better side of a cooler

if villain is raising alot of these boards you can just adjust by calling down lighter and reevaluating on the turn since at 100bbs the spr will be pretty low you can expect most villains to shut down on the turn when called.

Deep it gets a bit tricky and probably best to not have a cbetting range on medium low paired boards since it is easier for villain to take control of the hand with a good SPR on turn.

I love the question Mamamat! But I do not know the one definitive answer, other than that I agree with monk over and phil long that your line/range varies based on opponent/game flow.

I've been thinking about this spot a lot today, but more from the other perspective. As the IP player facing the CB, how do you split your range (raising/floating) to take advantage of a high CB%, and what sizings do you use for a raise? I feel like this is a spot where we can get away with raising quite small, maybe even min at 100BB.

tough spot, good question. Sorry for being nitty but, its's the 3 bet you are thinking about making, not a 4 bet. Personally I just CBET small and follow it up with a lot of bad decisions when I face aggression.
