Terminology question: blocking continues
This is something I hear a lot and am wondering how it's specifically defined.
Is blocking continues:
I have JJTT and the board is JJTT. Because I have double quads, the opponent will have virtually no hands interested in moving forward on this board.
Or is it
I have TTTT and villain needs a T to make his gutshot, which he's never getting. And because of this I block him from hitting the card that makes his hand.
Thanks

I think it is the second. The first case I would call it "overkill" :D
both. just sometimes you want a villain to call and sometimes you don't.
Therefore when you block his continuing range you need to adjust according what kind of reaction you want to get
Yeah, this.
It's just about constructing your opponent's range and using all information available to you, including known cards.
just the former
I use 'blocking continues' to mean "I block the hands he will call or raise with (if I bet or raise)," which your first example works with.
The second example, I would just call that blocking his outs.
