Slow playing pair of tens in 3bet pot!
SB: $398.10
BB: $50
UTG: $288.88
HJ: $555.55
CO: $155.46 (Hero)
UTG folds, HJ folds, Hero raises to $3.50, BN folds, SB folds, BB raises to $11, Hero calls $7.50
Hi,
BB is a regular playing with 50bb. I'have 700 hands on him. His 3bet against steel is 14% (sample 59).
His cbet in 3bet is 90% (s20), and he usually cbet pot and stack, or on very dry boards he bets small and sometimes calls, or fold to a raise. He is checking with an intention to give up so far. Haven't seen him check-raising as preflop 3beter.
So we call 3bet. and he checks to us on a Ts3s2h flop.
I planned to bet very small to protect my bluffing range, but I realized that he can't have anything, and we shouldn't be afraid of any turn, so the best vacuum play is to slowplay our pair of teens!
His 3bet range contains AA, KK, some QQ. He pots with all of them on the flop. He can 3bet some mid-Hi connected hands, but if it contains a Ten I'm pretty sure he will pot it. If it have a flush draw, he will pot it for sure. So we are up against some mid-hi cards without a T, and without flushdraw (at least not better than our Qhigh).
The only hand I could be afraid is AKQJ or maybe AKQ9ds that he 3bets and may want to give up. So the best he can have now is two outs.
So our pair of Tens is as strong as 87 on 887 board or maybe stronger, because AKQj is not the big portion of his range, and if he hits an Ace, we still have lots of outs, but with 87 we have a risk of giving an over pair chance to improve to full house.
And most of all I want to say that watching videos on this site improved my game a lot, and 2 months ago I couldn't make a play like this, and would miss a ton of value.
Good luck!
