River Sizing on paired board

Blinds: $1.00/$2.00 (6 Players) BN: $214.66
SB: $574.43
BB: $203.42 (Hero)
UTG: $425.11
MP: $200.00
CO: $66.74
Preflop ($3.00) Hero is BB with Q 5 T 3
4 folds, SB raises to $6.00, Hero calls $4.00
Flop ($12.00) Q 8 3
SB bets $7.00, Hero raises to $22.00, SB calls $15.00
Turn ($56.00) Q 8 3 8
SB checks, Hero bets $40.00, SB calls $40.00
River ($136.00) Q 8 3 8 6
SB checks, Hero bets $90.00, SB folds

Thinking about river sizing here. I didn't want to pot it even though it is a nuts/air situation, thinking that when he has a eight he is always calling and when he doesn't it makes it more likely that I do. Obviously I will need to bluff less often the smaller I make it (in a theory sense).
I think I have heard Phil talk about a similar concept in past videos.
What sizing do you like (say we use one size with our entire range) and why?
