Nothing you should blame yourself for imo...
We shouldn't be too worried about him having J8xx since we already have the two eights and in addition, he would have raised at least the turn with that type of hand.
He didn't raise pre-flop from the CO either which makes JQKx unlikely as well.

With that in mind I think your play was fine. You should probably take a little note on this guy as he called you down to the river with middle pair (along with the pure gutshot) to make sure you'll be value betting in this spots in the future.

I don't agree Ziigsildurrr1. For me the river is a clear c/f. Vilain seem passive and I don't think he valubet worst. We have the lowest straight when he can have 89Tx TJQx TQ9x JQKx ... (don't agree when you said "(He didn't raise pre-flop from the CO either which makes JQKx unlikely as well)" cause loose passive fish just don't raise anything.)

And I think flop turn you should bet more since he limp PF and we hit second nuts I want to make the most valu from all his 2 pairs, sets and draws.

What do you guys think of checking this flop? More often your not going to get much action on this type of board why not check and let villain bet his air hands/2 pair. This is a good hand to have in our check calling/ raising range

I would bet a bit less OTF, like $.40. Turn is fine to bet again and get value. OTR, I'd go ahead and bet. He hasn't shown much strength. If you check he can just show down his two pair hands that he got stubborn with. By betting, and I'd bet like 55% pot, you can get him to call with some of the hands he would check. Of course, OTR I'm B/F, but I don't think he'd value bet worse, so I'd X/F river as played.

I think we have to bet the turn, but I feel as though making it a PSB is so much better, the board is not great for out hand. Any diamond, 8, K, Q, J, T, 9 ,7 (25 cards) is going to be rather crappy for us on the river in that we will no longer hold the nuts, so if he folds now its not a bad thing for us.

As played, I would fold the river. Unless we know that this player is a bluffer, he is not going to value bet anything less than the nuts/Q8 here at micro stakes.

I dont think I bet either, even though we have 2 8's, all his 8x hands are now ahead of us, and we are just going to value bet ourselves to death as he would be ballsy to call with 2pairs/sets on river (unless we bet 1/4 pot)

I rather check/call river if flop held a flushdraw and it missed. So as played, I think bet/folding is best option. You will be amazed how often they get stubborn with a set here, so 35-55% pot sized bet on river wouldnt be too bad imo.

I would probably bet slightly more on the turn. I don't think he is folding and we have the best hand.

You can fold the river. It's hard for him to have the 8. He basically has sets or draws. Maybe he turns a set into a bluff sometimes on the river, but not enough to call.
