Plo100 3b pot Flop Cbet Question

BN: $205.09
SB: $106.91
BB: $110.80
UTG: $99.50
HJ: $154.53
CO: $100 (Hero)
Preflop ($1.50) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt J A 8 A
UTG raises to $3, HJ folds, Hero raises to $10.50, BN folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls $7.50
Flop ($22.50) 8 9 J (2 Players)
UTG checks
Ok I'm a little uncertain how to approach these situations at the minute. Villain opens utg so his range should be stronger, but there are still a bunch of hands we are ahead of on the flop. With a 4psr do we a) bet call b) bet fold c) check back?

I think that we are just barely too strong to prefer bet-folding to checking back. I don't expect him to shove very light over a bet from us, but we have one of the few hands that wants to check flop but can call turn bets.

Check... Let's see a turn :)

We should be a big underdog against an unknown's c/r range, so I'd start by eliminating b/c.

"Value-checking" the flop works best when we preserve equity and playability on future streets. That's not really the case here, since we rarely improve, and there are lots of bad turn cards for us.

Against an unknown I would just go ahead and bet-fold. I don't expect to extract a lot of value when he doesn't fold, so a bet is essentially for protection. But we'll get called by worse sometimes, and I don't expect an unknown to c/r light on this board.

I don't expect his continuing range to be very sensitive to sizing. When I have the straight he's pretty much crushed (note that when we have QT after 3-betting we usually have redraws on this board). I'm not the Mozart of finely tuned bet sizing, but around 1/2 pot should work.
