PLO - LAG vs TAG
Hi all,
Just started playing PLO a couple of months ago and have a real penchant for the game. I've been playing mostly 6-max nlhe for a few years, but decided to give PLO a try, for a number of reasons. Mainly, because the game seems so much complicated and it seems the skill factor plays such a huge role (despite how ridiculous the variance is), which is very important for me (as I like challenges where skill is the main factor)
I just signed up for essential and started watching the videos...and the first few I watched were the first Sam's videos, where he seems to play very LAG-heavy style(esp preflop), or as Phil mentions in another video, "he's almost a brilliant maniac". Now, it's obvious Sam is a very successful implementing this style. I also realize there are many successful players playing either LAG or TAG, so I wonder is there a definite advantage of the one or the other and how should I build my game? As I'm still in the phase, where I struggle to chose a clear style and approach to the game.
I would say I'm more of a taggish player by nature and so if I follow my disposition it would make sense to develop myself as a TAG player...however, I'm open to be convinced of the merits of the LAG-style in PLO and I'm ready to work hard to study it well, if you guys think that is the correct approach.
