PLO HU Videos - Essential
Hi,
Are there any PLO HU Videos for Essential members to watch? Can't seem to find any. If not, are there any planned?
Regards,

Hey man,
I know there has been many requests for heads up and I will for sure make a series very soon! My apologies for the long wait, I will try and make it worth it!
Any suggestions or topics people would like me to cover, please let me know and I will try and address them
Hi Sam,
I'm new here so haven't seen much of the work done. But very happy to find your Essential level. But basically a PLO HU Video PLO50-PLO100. Some things that I think can be discussed more is:
- Proper 3b range and what boards to CBET, but more importantly playing the turn in 3b pots OOP. Perhaps turnplay in general, especially in 3b pots even IP. Often fold/call/raise seem terribly close. (Which of course is natural as the pot is big and equities are running close in PLO, but still).
- Best way to adapt to aggressive 3bettors, expand 4b range or play more flops. Sometime find myself bleeding against over-aggressive opponents. I do come out profitable but unsure "sitting and waiting" is the right strategy. For example, how light should you be against someone 3b 40%
Looking forward to talking/learning strategy with/from you, I will try to engage more when the HU video is made.
Thanks,
N
Just a correction, of course fold is not a choice in circumstances where equities run close. It's just the opposite.
+1 on turnplay topics..def the most complicated spots in HU PLO...
+1
Sam vs Tom with dual commentaries would be EPIC !! :D
Come on...
You couldn't be fish - no way... The same thing Phil says he is "not that good" in 5-card Omaha and he's the best in the world in 4-card Omaha....
Bla bla bla.... If you'd try it, you'd love it, btw I really can't imagine that you haven't been playing PLO HU, as it is far best/fun/amusing part of poker/Omaha...
Mandžukić scored for 1-0 - nice.... ;)
how is that possible tom? lol. gotta try at least for fun :)
What a timely post, I just played my first heads up match - two tables PLO25. Our match lasted just over an hour and a half And I had so much fun playing it! I found it much more of sports-like competitive vibe than traditional 6 max play and I love a challenge and competition ;) Match started very bad initially started being down 4 Bi's real early. But fought back and ended in profit :)
Some interesting/fun topics to cover imo for HU PLO play could be.
- Building reputable 4 Betting and 5 betting ranges when stacks start getting deep.
-Opponents perception of your play style and how too utilize it best to your advantage.
- When and how too take nonstandard lines to your game.
- Raising turns Ip/oop :)
- Game Dynamic/Metta Game: When playing lengthy sessions (ex. Bttech and Isilidur daily battles) and frequent opponents. Even at lower stakes.
I think nothing has helped my game as much as heads up play. Just being comfortable playing weak hands, being comfortable playing oop and being comfortable making very thin value bets. (I guess comfortable is in very relative terms here, since these things are never completely comfortable) It really helps hand reading skills A LOT to play heads up. That said, I don't play anywhere near as much HU as I probably should, but I did get some limited HU coaching on another site recently. I'd recommend anyone who plays 6-max to learn more about HU play, even if you don't intend to play HU.
