PLO HU 100 vs reg, how to approach such a hand ?

Blinds: $0.50/$1.00 (2 Players) BB: $96.00
SB: $106.50 (Hero)
Preflop ($1.50) Hero is SB with Q J 8 7
BB raises to $2.50, Hero raises to $7.50, BB calls $5.00
Game just started on 2 tables.. he is a reg and i assume he is decent
Flop ($15.00) J A 4
Hero bets $9.00, BB calls $9.00
I dont know about my sizing here, but i figured i get alot of worse hands to fold with this bet, and also i hate checking on that board ever.
Turn ($33.00) J A 4 8
Hero bets $24.00, BB raises to $79.50 and is all in, Hero folds
Thats the part where i am totally lost how to play it. Since it was my first 3 bet and i might be a player that 3 bets very tight, i assumed my perceived range is very strong, thats why i folded. Obviously he could have like a lot of semibluffs as could i.

I just wanna know how better players would analyze such a hand and figure out what to do .

I feel like if i check here , i kinda have to call for value, but then on the river.. i will have very hard time oop.
Final Pot BB wins $80.50
Rake is $0.50
