With that in mind, we need to carve a sizing that looks like we just decided to barrel off and hope villain gets stubborn (if he raises, we will toss our hand without a second thought). Against an unknown in this spot, I would probably select $16 because 1) it seems like a nice half-pot size that will get a lot of calls and 2) we exactly doubled our turn bet which was exactly double our flop bet. Villain may not notice, but for some reason, $16 just looks slightly more suspicious to me than any of the other sizes around it. Very minor point though, and perhaps not even true, but basically I would bet/fold around half pot here, hoping to get looked up by smaller flushes or a super stubborn JT. Villain will fold a lot of the time I expect, but that's fine, he almost certainly wasn't firing anyways.
...the way this hand was played by villain until the river, most of the time this guy is hoping for a check in order to check it back and get to a free showdown. With that in mind the sizing of our value bet shouldn't be too big. $16 is fine - maybe even less, if you want to allow some straights to pay you off.
How did you play the hand?
