Hi, new to plo and to plo hu.
Villian did not seem competent either.
I thought i will call the river anyway so why not try to push him off a chop.
Do i just always have to assume he has a set here ?

If you were chopping with Q10xx, wouldn't villian 4-bet allin on turn instead of flatting?
The turn flat leads me to believe that villain has KKxx, 22xx, 99xx, maybe 810Kx, KJxx, and maybe at worst J9xx.
Once the board pairs on the river it sucks but I think you have to check/fold, or possibly check/call if you have a good read on them.
1st of all I'm not HU player
but here is what I think: pre and flop look fine. IP probably it could be 3bet, but here call absolutely ok
ott leading or c/r are both appropriate depending on the villain.
river.
what we are getting value from looks like a quite narrow range: AAQ, KJ (or Kxxx+gutter, actually any two pair if he is bad or a pair +gutter) BUT w\ raise on the turn its not that likely he could have these hands; sets or slowplayed TQ are more way more possible
but with none FD's missed there's not really much to expect hero\crying call from. but with equity we need I dont see fold either. c\c or bet close for me
ps. its always good to know how you see villain and his tendencies and dont post results
Sorry, new to posting here, will do that in the future. But thank you for your input !
Preflop is a fold. You have a horrible hand, esp. oop HU. Comletely rainbow, 4 dangler, and semi connectedness. NOt good. if it was suited to Q, than you could even consider 3betting it. And what draws do you think you're pushing him off of when the board is rainbow? He either has the same hand as you, which he would have gotten all the money in on the turn, or set 2 pair combo. That board pairing on the river is the worst card for you. Check and hope he checks back, or check decide with leaning toward a fold
Preflop seems a sort of meh defend. Inclined to 3 bet or fold.
As played, agree 100% with everything BlankCanvass wrote.
Villain could sometimes slow play the same QTxx as us but often times will be getting it in on the turn. Feels like he does indeed have a set or strong two pair combo, all of which obviously get there on the river.
I'd typically play this hand preflop. Certainly towards the bottom of my range, but fine against someone who opens 85%+. Would definitely not 3-bet though, even when suited to the queen. It's just way too weak for that.
On the flop I think you could consider a donk bet with this hand if you had just a tiny bit more. If the 2d was a 2h I think it would be fine, and if the 2d was 4d I think you could consider a c/r. You're not really playing this hand to crush the flop (because it usually won't), so you'll need some oop warfare to make it worthwhile.
As played I think turn lead is best, though I would lead much bigger.
On the river it's anyone's guess what you should do. You'd think sets are no longer in his range as they aren't getting odds to call, but who knows with random players at $0.50/$1. I don't think I'd be folding the river though, but that may be a mistake.
