Live 1/3 turned the straight but is it good?

Hero is playing tight aggressive picking up some small pots in position and not getting to showdown much.
Villian is a slightly aggro euro has made some loose preflop raises like AK92 suited to the ace in the SB over 5 limpers. Capable of bluffing and plays a wide calling range.

Hero raises UTG $12 w/ AcAs2s4c
Villain calls BTN $12
SB folds
BB calls $12

Flop 358r
Hero check calls $35

Turn
6r
Hero check calls $110

River
3

Hero checks villain bets $300
What range should villain expect me to show up with? Make the hero call here? Flop and turn line ok? I wasn't happy bet getting this in on the flop or bet folding.

Well, you said he is aggro and capable of bluffing. Against him I don't mind betting/3betting or, preferably, check/raising on the flop. You are often gonna have the best hand on flop (and if not, a plenty of equity with your wrap) but your outs are mostly non-nutty, so even if you hit a straight on the turn/river you will usually improve only to a bluff catcher, which is not an ideal outcome against guys like this.

Given what you said about the villain, I put him on a range of: Top 20% of hands + 3 and 4 card run downs 6 or higher, plus any paired Ks or As, plush flush draw potential of 6 or higher, plus double pairs 6 or higher.

Preflop, this puts you at a 65% favorite.

Once the flop comes out, you are still a 66% favorite against his range with no further information.

I really don't think his $35 bet on the flop reduces his range any, so I think optimally this may be a check raise here because the decision is easy. It's only going to get more difficult to to figure out as the hand progresses, and he seems like the kind of guy that would put it all in with an over pair or an eight out draw.

Once you check call the flop, I think you have kind of committed yourself to check calling all the way down. You know the flop mostly misses him, the turn and river doesn't change that, and him continuing to bet doesn't change anything either that because it sounds like you had identified him as someone who is likely to three barrel bluff or to be betting very thin.

At the end of the day, I think you took the second best line.

With stack size of 200bb and a check raise wouldn't the turn be awkward a lot? We're going to be putting in $145 on the flop with another ~350 behind.

I am inclined to agree with User X. Hard to think you're not an equity favourite in this position. Check raise on the flop risks you not getting maximum value out of your hand but a) I think you need a check-raising range on the flop that includes a lot of 2nd or 3rd nut draws against a player like this who is going to be putting you in tough positions come turn/river if you get there and face a huge bet b) if he has 2 pair or an overpair it sounds like he might shove which we would love in this spot c) by the off chance he has a set it's still not a terrible position to be in and d) if he folds, it makes your life easy.

General question though, what were your stats against him? Curious if he 3 bets a lot when check raised on the flop? If he folds a lot when check raised I think your check call makes more sense given you know what his line is on the turn.

My preference would have been to check raise flop if he likes to get it in a lot or check shove turn given he seems to bet 3 streets almost always.
