Learning PLO #7: Should I go for a Blockerplay here?

Blinds: $0.05/$0.10 (6 Players) BN: $24.01
SB: $10.54
BB: $15.16
UTG: $10.00
MP: $18.50
CO: $13.52 (Hero)
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is CO with 5 A A J
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.35, BN folds, SB calls $0.30, BB calls $0.25
Flop ($1.05) J 2 4
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks
Turn ($1.05) J 2 4 5
SB bets $0.80, BB calls $0.80, Hero

I could call the turnbet and try to rep the nutflush if a diamond rolls off (which would be credible imo).
But I have no experience if that shit works at PLO10, after all I'm still a newbie myself.

What are your thoughts on the Turn and would you potentially have bet on the flop?

Yes, that shit works at PLO10, but in this particular spot, there is no point to go for that.
You can do that play in a spot like this: you have AAxx, flop is, let's say, Kxx with a flush draw that you block with one of your aces, villan lead flop and turn, you call, the flush hit the river and villan check. And if the board isn't paired, you can go for the nuts blocker bluf.

In this spot I wouldn't be too excited about going for the blocker bluff if the flush hits. It's pretty likely at least one of your opponents will have a smaller flush, and I wouldn't trust them to fold. Psychologically, many people really don't like to fold after "making" their hand.

At low stakes in particular - and really poker in general - I'm very wary of plays whose maximum upside is bluffing. If you think about poker theory and where money comes from, most of your money comes from value bets. Unless you somehow know your opponents are massively overfolding in a certain spot, a line whose upside is an opportunity to bluff is rarely going to be profitable.

I would be much happier to call turn on merit of your two pair and expect to get to show it down when it's the best hand on the river. But even that's still quite a thin prospect.

I wouldn't generally bluff when backdoor draws come in. People tend not to believe it (even though they do hit quite frequently). So you can just bomb it when you have a value hand instead.

Bet the flop.

I said when you bet the flop you could sometimes bluff your nut flush blocker against one opponent but to be honest this rarely works though because its a backdoor draw what came in and nobody believes you.
Now when you have checked otf and SB bets out saying he has 63 or maybe A3 and BB calls aswell (possible flush draw) there`s no way your blocker play works at those stakes when one of those players hits their lower flush.
