Ideal BR planning for microstakes

Hi guys.

This is a question asked all around the internet but I wanted to ask personally anyway :P

Could you guys give me some advice/ideas on how you plan your bankroll, as in, when to take shots at next stake and when to back down?
Last week, I finally got around playing in 10PLO following the 50+10BI many people suggest, but ended up losing the 10BI within a few days, so had to go back down to 5PLO.
I feel like this method is not the most ideal way and sort of making me tilt since losing 10BI at higher stake equates to losing about 1/3 of my bankroll.

Is 50+10 still the best plan for microstakes?
Thanks!

PS. I am currently a uni student so I don't want to deposit any more if possible.
