guy has been gettin it in kinda light, ran up like a 1.3k stack on me gettin it in good like 1 outta 5x or so?

a) I don't have much experience at all this deep

b) despite stack sizes, i actually have recent momentum

i kinda felt like, well, he 3bet, he isn't folding ... so, I don't want to lose my market if a club/straight card rolls off and he has like 66/44

i felt like min4betting flop would be kinda super obv? and may even give him right price to draw to a big wrap type hand?

What's your play here?

Im actually also rly not used to playing this deep and rarely a designated HU match. However, I would have played it the same..idk whenever I get cute in such spots it usually backfires.I mean geez, u think he could fold overpair/pair+ nfd here?Id guess no, and given that I like the play.

I don't have a problem with this as you have blockers to wrap/flush draw type of hands that are never folding anyhow.

Ya this is fine. If you somehow have overset him you don't want to risk peeling and letting a scare card come off.. Because the reward for getting it in crushing him when this deep is so high.. Also, he could call the flop 4b and fold to the turn bet. Also becomes a bit awkward on club or straight turns if you just peel the 3b; in short, our hand has a ton of equity against a range, but the best chance for us to realize that equity is to pile as much as we can in OTF.

i think the jam is fine, but i dont think your initial raise should be this big, with your range and espceially in a vacuum with your hand. I mean if the guy never folds an overplays everything then fine, But your hand makes it harder for him to have some value hands, and you want ot be able to attack this board for a cheaper price when you dont have it. I think somewhere closer to 3x his raise or just over is much better than just over 4x

Interesting spot. Two points.

1) You shouldn't raise this large with anything, in my opinion. You can do very well raising small and using your positional advantage if he decides to peel (not just with this hand, but with your full range).

2) I agree that once he 3bets vs. a raise as large as yours, he's unlikely to fold. Because of that, I'm cool with jamming. That said, if you have reason to suspect he can do this as a bluff, you have basically the perfect hand to call with and induce more action, as you don't have to fold any turns. JJxx without clubs should be more apt to re-raise.
