HU 100PLO, thin turn barrel?

SB: $93.10
BB: $110.30 (Hero)
Up to hand I only had 13 Hands from him, SB 83, BB 50, 17 3bet.
He 3bet pre and c/f 854ss, no further reads to this point.
Preflop ($1.50) (2 Players)
Hero was dealt 6 8 4 5
SB raises to $2.50, Hero raises to $8, SB calls $6
Standard I guess
Flop ($18.00) 3 9 A (2 Players)
Hero bets $12, SB calls $12
cbetting almost my whole range here
Turn ($42.00) 3 9 A Q (2 Players)
Hero bets $30, SB folds
I turn some equity with weak hearts and still have the gutshot. Perceived the Q hits me more than him, but I wonder if his flop calling range isn't too strong to barrel again.
I don't think he calls bare 9s too often, mostly he has Ax or 245 I guess. The only 9s he might call are probably connected 9s such as 89TJ with two backdoorflushdraws, but these combos are rare and he probably folds them on the flop anyway. Does he have an Ace without 2pair or a strong kicker often enough and does he fold it often enough for me to make this a profitable barrel? Do you barrel blank rivers?

Don't like the 3 bet. Like the barrell. Barreling a blank river is pretty read dependent, but if it's a total brick and given no reads, Im probably giving up.

Line is good, I think your flop and turn sizing's are too big on this texture. I feel like 10-18 on flop is best. As played on flop, you have 73 in stacks and 42 in the pot. Betting 30 your essentially committed and if your goal is to commit yourself, I think potting is a better alternative with this SPR. (If SPR was >2 I like betting a smaller size, like 26-42 w/ my range).

I don't think the 3bet pre is standard. It's an option, but do note that this is a fairly weak and speculative hand. You're certainly not pushing any equity edge preflop, more like the opposite probably. The 3bet reduces the flop SPR, but not enough to make your postflop life much easier.

That said, I think the 2 barrel is fine here. It's certainly thin, but I think it works often enough to show a small profit. I wouldn't fire 3 though unless you hit one of your off suit deuces. All other cards I'm pretty much giving up on the river. Your flush if it hits, while nice, is still just a bluff catcher.

Notice though, that you are taking a very weak hand to the turn. This hand and board run out would prefer to play a small pot, but because of the 3bet and your flop cbet this doesn't happen. If you do this 1 out of 10 times and the rest of the time you have a strong hand, it still works. But if you do this too often it will be a losing play. It would be kinda gross to face a turn raise here, and even a turn call puts you in a bad spot.

Edit: I misread the positions when first posting, changed it now.

I considered all rundowns with a suit (even with 1 gap) as standard 3bets, I guess I have to adjust my thinking here.
Thanks guys!

Yeah, I was going to mention pre is kind of marginal, but it's definitely OK vs some and bad vs others. If you think they play poorly in small-med SPR situations w/o the initiative, then I like it.

Patrick, just to let you know jonna102 statement is a little bit better than mine which is, it's not standard, but it is an option given that you want to have the ability post flop to rep as many board textures as possible. I would think along the lines of 75% you call and maybe 25% you 3 bet, again it depends on the opponent and whether you have to worry about repping different board textures if villain is smart enough to think about such things. For me as as default the standard is to call.
