How to play a vulnerable but best hand on the flop out of postiion?
None: $0
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4: http://www.pokertracker.com
BB: 95 BB
UTG: 48.25 BB
CO: 406.26 BB
BTN: 96 BB
Hero (SB): 111.55 BB
Hero posts SB 1 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB
Pre Flop: (pot: 2 BB) Hero has Jh 7s 8h As
fold, fold, fold, Hero checks, BB raises to 3 BB, Hero calls 2 BB
Flop: (6 BB, 2 players) 5d Jd 7c
Hero bets 3 BB, BB raises to 12 BB, Hero calls 9 BB
Turn: (30 BB, 2 players) 5s
Hero checks, BB bets 23 BB, fold
My opponent is a very good, very winning reg. No history between us.
My preflop play is based on him raising first in in bb 73%, and 3betting vs sb 27%. It is going to be very difficult for me to play him out of position, but my hand is too good to fold. I opted to disguise my hand strenght.
Anyone in favour of raise/4 betting this hand against him 27% 3 betting?
Anyway, my more important question is, on flops out of position where we hit probably the best hand, but many turns will be bad for us, what is the best gameplan? I think it is fair to assume that most opponents in this situation c-bet with high frequency, agreed?

In your spot, on the flop, your hand is good, but very vulnerable and the pot:stack ratio is still very big, so you can either check/call or lead/3bet flop (if you decide the latter, lead bigger like 4,5 or 5). The way you played it you will get owned on many turns in a spot where you bloated the pot without specific reason.
As played, leading/3betting the flop is pretty cool play. Check-call flop, eventually turn/river, it all comes to down of having good post-flop reads.
- Capable of valuebetting light
- Merging this with bluffs, for example T98x in this hand.
- U have 2 blockers for JJxx,77xx, there is always an option to turn your hand into a bluff.
- I don't consider as well all of my options, which I regret sometimes ;).
It's though to play OOP vs a good opponent, although the wrong adjusment is to start playing scared.
