Preflop ($0.75) (6 Players)

Flop ($6.50) J 7 J (4 Players)
SB checks, HJ checks, Hero bets $3.50, SB raises to $12.50, HJ folds, Hero raises to $40.50, SB calls $35.75, Hero calls $4.25
Villain is a 20/12/3 player and I have about 300hands on him. He got about 30% checkraise( very high, IMO)
I saw him attacked some flops and also where there was one hand that I saw him called a x/r with Top set in multi way pot on a str8 board and shoved a blank turn.( I assumed he is pretty aggro and maybe shove light)

When he x/r the flop, I thought he might likely to attack this board(some what dry). I'd considered call, small raise or shove. I didn't like calling, cuz I might played my hands face up on later streets and also I might lose some value, if he had some weak Js.

I decided to shove flop and i ll get value from worse and if he got hands like AJ, J7, 77 and I have 2 BD FD and 9 over cards. I guess it's not that bad. After I played the hand I kind of like make a min raise on the flop like 25ish, cuz he knows that Im a reg and I might fight for the pot, this way I can induce a shove with some of his air hands.

What line should I take vs this reg and vs unknow?

Turn ($103.00) 6 (3 Players)
River ($103.00) K (3 Players)
Final Pot
Hero has Q J 9 K SB has J 5 T A Hero wins $101

Potting the flop is the worst of you options. Especially against someone with a high flop c/r. Call, it protects your cbetting range and your c/r calling range --> If your calling range here is full houses, trips, draws and overpairs it's really hard for villain to keep betting and trying to push you off your hand.

On the other hand, if you shove this hand you have way too many weak hands in your c/r calling range.

very high c/r % indeed, but i doubt he pulls a c/r off here on this board in a 3way pot with air, and if we look at his stats he seems quite tight preflop so we can assume that he can problably have a hand like ajtx or a rundown like jt87 in his range maybe even a twopaired hand like 7755 or something like that? i dont like your 3bet on the flop that much, sure we can be up against a weaker j sometimes, but i think when we get c/r on this type of board 3way the opponent often have a strong hand. and if you make a small 3bet to like 25 you gonna get rid of all air here, but if you get the feeling he is weak, why not call, give him a chance to fire another barrel on turn with air and you can evaluate what to do. but lets say you call and a 2-6 falls on turn, if we face a potsize or at least another strong bet here i think its a tougher spot, because then he have to put a big part of his stack at risk to make a bluff and i think we look quite strong when we just call his raise on the flop, he should know that we have a jack by now, so if he goes ahead and bet big - 3/4 of the pot or more, it feels to me like he have a made boat and wants to get value from our jack. ofc history plays in in these spots as well but i think i quite often go ahead and fold to a big turn bet here though it feels like we are not good that often and 9 outs going to the river isnt that good. but i have troubles with these spots too so i might be wrong here, would like to se what others thinks about these spots!

I don't think I can comfortably fold 3/4 pot bet on the turn! Especially he could follow up with a bluff and he could has some worse hands too. I might fold the river if he had shoved~ what do u think? folding the turn just too weak IMO

No i agree with you! especially too weak against this player as you described him. But i dont really feel comfortable to always getting it in with only trips k kicker either, and if we call a big bet on turn were pretty much in with our whole stack.. So if we agree to go with it against the looser players most of the times how do we deal with these pots against a tighter reg?

I agree that potting is the worst of your options. Vs someone with such a high c/r I would prefer either a call or a small 3bet (click-it-back size). If he has a J you are almost certainly getting all the money in the middle regardless, so the next things to think about are maximising value from bluffs/worse hands, and balancing your range.

+1 to call being best.

Great responses, guys. Nothing really to add.

I would either call or click it back ($21.50). The former is probably best in a vacuum here, but the latter is the best (only attractive) way to bluff, so you'll want to play your value hands that way sometimes against a frequent checkraiser.

so is folding the turn completely out of the question here? i dont think i fold that much here assuming we like in this hand starting with 100bb but it def happens sometimes. and when it gets a little deeper i think this gets even more tricky!
