Though Process:
I have nut straight blockers (JJs)
once its checked on the river i feel the only way i can take this pot is betting and betting big. I think the flush is irrelevant in my eyes, although its micros i think once they check they are giving up (half the time..sometimes i see people want to go for a x/r. so thats somewhat of an issue i have in hindsight)
Im still having trouble coming up with ranges on the spot but once they checked twice i figured they were weak overall or maybe i did get them to fold a dummy straight or some overpairs like QQs, KKs, AAs (although KKs and AAs might bet out the river so maybe not) it was limped so many some bad bottom 2 pair for one villain and the other villain could of had a higher run down that did not connect and wanted to peel the turn and gave up when he missed....or a busted a straight now that i think about it. T7xx and because i had the jack blockers the river was a brick and they gave it up.
+EV river bluff? I figured that was my best way to take down the pot.

6 blocker also...that should help my bluff in terms of equity and combonatorically right?
New time forum and first post so don't shoot me down!! Is there an argument for betting the turn? After we have raised pre bet flop seems this line would be the best as we would most likely take the pot down then without giving the two villains a free card and we look super strong? Obviously once the 8 hits the river we look like we have filled up and as you say we have blockers to the straights. It's very hard to assign Villan ranges at these stakes as everyone is loose and passive, limp call raise. I would be surprised to see someone show up with AA/KK/QQ hands here as they usually go mental pre with these holdings. Anyway think you played it pretty well. Jason
why just not to start betting OTT if you want to bluff one out of the hand. you have pretty much the perfect postion\hand to do it. against the river bet you could be called simply cas of curiosity
What does your range look like though with a bet on the flop then a check on the turn?
Doesn't the bet on the flop look like you have a straight here? so you should bet the turn as the 5 doesn't harm your range?
What are you repping on the flop with such a small sizing? If you're trying to rep the nuts with blockers you have to bet big since you obviously would do so with the nut straight here. Then you have to commit to barreling any safe runouts unless villain is a 3-street calling station.
When you pot the river it reeks of bluff. If you actually did fill up what do you expect to get called by when you pot the river? Since you can't balance this sort of thing on Bovada I would at least want a slight read that villain is weak-tight.
Remember, just because you "feel the only way [you] can take this pot is betting and betting big" doesn't mean you have to bluff. You don't have to win every hand.
