general strategy as PFR on low paired boards

Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 (4 Players) SB: $25.72 (Hero)
BB: $5.95
CO: $20.00
BN: $31.64
Preflop ($0.35) Hero is SB with J Q A 7
CO checks, BN folds, Hero raises to $1.00, BB folds, CO calls $0.75
Flop ($2.25) 8 8 4
Hero checks, CO checks
Turn ($2.25) 8 8 4 K
Hero bets $1.40, CO calls $1.40
River ($5.05) 8 8 4 K T
Hero bets $3.50, CO calls $3.50
Final Pot SB lost and shows a pair of Eights.
CO wins and shows two pairs, Kings and Tens.
CO wins $11.25
Rake is $0.80

Preflop I always hesitate between raise and overlimp, AQJ8s being always a raise to me. Here with BB being short and CO auto-posted, raising seems superior.
CO is probably a fish, I've no info on him.
As a general rule, I try to balance my range here, cbetting any GS+ and my pairs up to most QQ and KK. I also bet my lowish over card hands like 79TJ or KJT9 and any 8. I would check 44 for balance, although I don't have many in my tight opening range, so I also check strong pairs which don't need much protection, like AKQQ, AKK or AA, which I have a lot in my range. I feel like if I cb all the AKJx like hands, my cbetting range will be too weak and I would cb too often on a board I don't hit much, and I'm probably making hands I do very well against fold.
On the other hand, vilain won't hit much often either, so unless I expect him to float with just over cards, I have a profitable cbet with any 4 cards. How would you adjust, what would your ranges look like ?
As played, turn bet seems standard and river bet with the Qc probably kinda mandatory since I'm so low in my range ?

As the pfr you have more overpairs so a bet of 1/3 pot is fine as a default. The more drawheavy the board is, the higher you size your bets. Be aware that aldo u have more overs, they( the callers) have more trips+ hands, so they can raise you quite liberally. If they do, you have to check (and give up ) hands, or chb AKQ type hands that can turn top pair.

I usually check my AA on this type of paired board, so I do so w/ overcards as well. If I'm called on turn I often give up on river, esp when flush hits (i could be wrong).
Side note: if rake is really $.80 on an $11 pot, you should find another place to play unless you are printing money on this site.
