Calling raises on BTN
Is it generally a bad thing to do? I seldom see anyone suggesting flatting preflop raises on BTN? Don't we want to play pots on button? I find myself losing a lot when I flat speculative hands on the BTN, like 9975r, AJ76as or JT86ss, especially against wide openers who cbet every flop.

There's many hands that do fine calling OTB but not 3betting.
9975r is pretty bad and usually a fold for me. (well maybe not vs a CO, but prolly vs UTG/MP)
AJ76as is a nice hand to flat.
JT86ss is a flat or 3b for me villain dependant.
depends on several things:
Your actual hand, better to play it multiway rather than HU?
stack sizes; opening size; any callers?
who opened? UTG MP CO? --> tighter ranges
Are the blinds squeeze happy?
it is not a bad thing to do. Your question depends on a lot of things, if you are overfolding then peeling will not be good. If as means all suited then muck it. disconnected and tough to make a flush.
I wouldn't be 3-betting JT86ss, 3-betting will fold out 5689 type hand in the blinds which is what you dominate. You of course can bluff, but i'd rather get straight over straight and a higher spr pre will allow for this.
