I like my hand but don't want to build a big pot yet out of position, don't mind calling a raise though

Only have 8 hands on MP and he looks to be tight passive but maybe he just hasn't had very good cards yet. I bet small because I have the nuts and don't want to just push out lower FDs or str8s. When he raises I pot it for value and protection against sets

I think he would raised the flop with JJ or QQ in his hand plus a FD or maybe KK with the 2nd nfd although I thought he would have 3 bet a min raise pre with KK in his hand so sort of discounted that. Any point calling off here? I'm just starting with PJ and not sure if I'm even using it correctly - I assumed this when he raised the flop: JJ+,QK+:cc,9T+:cc,KQ+ and that he would have called pf with a 30% range
and I took out KK because I thought he would have 3 bet them over a min open. It tells me I still should have 41% equity but if I put the KK back in (he could have had dry KK that he didn't want to raise with everyone behind to act) it drops to 37% . Does this seem right? Is this worth calling? I feel as if after I pot the flop he would only do this if he was full but maybe he has a Q:cc and decided to go for it having read my hysterical response to his flop raise as the bare nut str8
