Turn ($5.15) 3 5 9 J (3 Players)

2 questions:

1. SPR is 6.4, so if we get raise otf it's a b/f, right?

2. ott, given we block the J for J9, J5, JJ; would you rather b/gii?

As played, I'm not sure if it's a fold or not.

1) I would be tempted to b/gii with this hand on the flop, we have two NBDFD plus a board that UTG will rarey have a set on so our equity can not be that bad against a gii range.  Probably depends on the how aggressive they are.  If you change the card ranks so that there are more two pair, straight draws etc. I would x/c since I can find a lot of good turn cards.

2)Turn I probably go for x/r as oppose to b/gii.  I want to give the player a chance to fire with all his air and weaker hands, could have a KKxx type hand that he is being stubborn with and will fire the turn.  Never folding with NFD+AA with no straights and very few sets in villains range.

pretty much summed up below but yeah, I am not going to get discouraged.  There are worse hands that I expect a big protection bet from (KdK*d), P+FD+SD, etc. that I think we will have enough equity tom did a quick video on figuring out the equity required to ccommit assuming all the dead money in the pot (from the flop action), and I am pretty sure that AdA*d, will have enough equity, having a J blocker is just icinig on the cake.

I would bet the turn or ch/rai but I think ch/ca is the worst option. Only one problem I see is when players on PLO10 raise they mostly 'have it' so I would not be super happy to bet and get it in. But maybe I'm playing too scared.

You wouldn't be excited, but you couldn't fold given the pot odds. The issue with this turn card isn't whether we're happy to get our money in (we are), but rather which line (bet/call or check/shove) gains us the most. Put simply, against aggressive villains we should check/shove to gain from bluffs and against passives we should bet/call to ensure they put money in with their weaker holdings (or force them to fold equity which is better than seeing the flop check through).

Without any extra info, my suspicion for 10PLO is that this is a bet/call. People are passive so I'd rather I guaranteed action from KK, 9x, 46 etc. than tried to get a bluff when the most likely outcome is they bet their stuff with enough equity to stack off and check the weaker trash behind.

Regarding the flop, I'd just bet/sigh-call it off. I'm not happy at all getting it in on that flop but it's hard to be crushed and we have so many backdoors that I really can't bet/fold here. Check/potting has some merit if you think they will bet one pairs.

p1ndakaas,

yeah, definitely x/ca is by far the worst line to take.

Tom,

thank you, awesome reply! And I totally agree that we should bet/gii since these 2 villains are passive/weak.

Also I'm not sure about this but now that villains bets pot ott, against his perceived range, is it better to fold or x/shove?

I agree that 53/19 players usually have low agression frequency so ch/shove isn't always possible. On the other hand, it sometimes seems that players at PLO10 love to bet when checked to instead of checking behind. But maybe that's just me not believing villains.

What would we do if we bet turn, get called and river comes a 9, T or Q nondaimond? Check/fold?

If we bet the turn it has to be pot, so if villains calls I think that his range is pretty much draws like 678x, 674x; so maybe I'm folding on a T, maaaybe on a 9 but I'm not so sure, I might be wrong.

And lol yeah, I also have that feeling that they bet almost always when it gets check to them.
