V is a loose tricky reg, who doesn't give up very easy but seems to have it most of the time when he puts his whole stack .

1. What do you think about the line?

2. River?

ugh....i might be supernit but i tend not to build pot on paired board that aint my boat or trip at very least...sooo skip checkraise on flop or even better = check turn as well and for almost same price call river because he can turn so much into a bluff here. lower flush 9x overpairs
~ quote = but seems to have it most of the time when he puts his whole stack = he is sitted wit 300 if im not mistaken he is just betting not putting his whole stack, its your whole stack~ thats why i like to sit with as much as max buyin is always - people are more careful against you that way which is an interesting question to put as separate one

I would lean towards a river fold, but it really depends on the opponent.

I really really hate the flop play without a very specific read (that your opponent is very very loose and stubborn). It's one of the few way ahead/way behind situations in PLO. You don't need to force money in now, as most worse hands are drawing slim, and will fold to your raise. You mostly just get action from better hands.

Phil, what do you think about the line hero has taken vs villain's JJ-AA? Can't it work often enough vs those hands as a thin (semi-) bluff? We can credibly rep 9x and might get him to fold those overpairs somewhere, if not right away. And if he just bet/calls with lets say QQ no diamond, we can either check back turn or bet again depending on the card. Not to mention that UTG cannot have too many hands that have us crushed, barring a few 9875 type hands.

I agree with you about the flop play and don't really like raising there. However, if he barrels again on turn and we don't improve, calling and folding are both kinda meh, no? If you flat on flop, are you mostly continuing on turn as well?

I'm fairly new to PLO and still learning the game, but would greatly appreciate it if you can share some thoughts on this. Have a nice weekend!

Hey Phil, big big fan! when i read the hand i thought the same as u, raisin flop seemed very bad. its like ur turnin hand into bluff. if villian is aggro let him fire his bluffs, and paired boards are usually good to keep pressure. ur showin alot of strength, so for him to be bluffing or value bettin worse seems unlikely. if u didnt raise flop it might be call but as hand was played im saying fold.

so, do we have a raising range at all on the flop? A lot of people like raising 55 and 9Axx here, which means we'll need a bluffing range, and the best hands to bluff with, except FD+wrap, seem to be NFD+overpair

Regarding eldodo42's bluffing range. With our hand we usually have somewhere between 25% and 40% equity if UTG 3bets our raise (9xxx, overpairs with FD (KdxdKx most notably)) and it seems pretty bad to fold out so much equity. That is, if the plan is to fold to a flop 3bet.So complete air seems better for bluffing purposes here. Smth like AJT8s, even tho it does have a pivot card on the flop.
